Fort Walton Beach High School has many claims to fame, but chief among those is the Viking Band. Recognized throughout the nation as one of the finest marching bands in the United States, the Viking Band also produces superior Symphonic and Concert Bands as well as two outstanding Jazz Ensembles.



It has an illustrious history. It promises an equally brilliant future. The Fort Walton Beach High School Viking Band is the culmination of dedication, talent, discipline and drive. Long recognized as one of the top high school music programs in the nation, the Viking Band offers students the ultimate music education opportunities in a school that is renown for quality academics, spirited athletics and the genuine motivation to produce well-rounded, capable young adults.



The students who have participated in the Viking Band have traveled and performed in cities, halls, and at events most of them never dreamed possible. Whether they're performing for the home-town crowd or for national dignitaries, the Viking Band has long been known as the "Pride of the Miracle Strip." The students are not only disciplined and dedicated, they are exceptional musicians. The proof is found in the consistent and impressive performance invitations the band regularly receives.



Many Viking Band students continue their music education after high school, pursuing careers in both the performing arts and music education.
