FunkInMilano is a crew of djs and record collectors composed by 5 elements: SoulVoce, DoppiaW, Gag, Tomato & Casty. We all have a long and strong hip hop background that brought us into funk music, that is, actually, our main concern. Now, still loving hip hop but driven by the desire of exploring new territories as well, we are trying to push funk along different directions.
In the 100% funk set we play all from funk 45s, classic funk, soul, afro, latin, to soul and reggae. Our Funkish! soundsystem mix all these ones with hip hop (old skool and nu skool), 80s electro, broken beat, nu funk, electro-funk and nu disco, always with a kind of psychaedelic touch.
FunkInMilano è un colletivo di DJ e collezionisti di dischi composto da 5 elementi: SoulVoce, DoppiaW, Gag, Tomato & Casty. Provenendo tutti da un più che decennale background Hip Hop ciascuno di noi ha esplorato strade diverse secondo un'evoluzione creativa personale, caratterizzata da un certo eclettismo ma dominata da un'unica e ben definita matrice sonora: la musica funk e soul nel senso più ampio di questi due termini.
Il nostro soundsystem 100% funk miscela classici breakbeat, deep funk, disco-funk, afro e latin, reggae su 45 giri e Lp. Il nostro soundsystem Funkish! aggiunge a queste sonorità electro anni 80 e Hip Hop, e musica nuova come broken beat, nu funk, electro-funk, e nu disco.
