Shane Gibson of Korn Demonstrates his Viper-100

Sometimes, on some very rare occasions, almost spiritually, things just come together - whether it’s a truly special combination of woods that produce a unique instrument, or when just the right group of musicians converge to become a single magical voice.

I was lucky to grow up in a musical family. My parents were both musicians, and my dad owned a music store filled with what eventually became today’s classic instruments. I can’t remember a time I didn’t hear music while growing up, much of it live. I was also quite fortunate to learn to repair tube guitar amps from a retired engineer, who did repairs for my dad in the local TV store. I began playing guitar, and played with local rock bands. I worked as a professional musician as soon as I could drive! I started working on guitar amps on NYC’s “music row” in the late 70’s. I followed that warm glow from tubes throughout my career, spending time at New York Audio Labs, and eventually manufacturing my own high-end vacuum tube audio products, and designing a number of tube products for Dynaco Corp.

Eventually, my musical and electronic paths converged, and I began building my own tube guitar amps. In the beginning, it was just for me. Rebuilding an old amp, to see how many more watts, how much more overdrive and gain, or how little noise could I squeeze out of a given pile of parts I took these amps to local open-mic nights and blues jams. Before I knew it, I was selling these hot-rodded amps to others both locally and eventually worldwide on the Internet.

One thing I realized was that tube guitar amplifier circuit technology hadn’t really advanced, like high-end tube audio equipment. I knew the only way to sculpt a unique tone was to start with a clean sheet of paper. Guided by my ears and (always) with a guitar in my hands, I put my thirty years of experience to work. Besides computer circuit modeling, I used time-honored high-end concepts such as: nonferrous chassis materials, high storage regulated power supplies, high-speed diodes, DC regulated heater supplies, and premium passive components. The end result raised the levels of performance to a whole new level. By combining the best attributes of PC boards and hand wiring, we craft products that are unique, reliable, quiet and consistent.

Our Endorsers

"For me the Fuchs amps deliver amazing tonal variety. The playability is another critical factor, it actually makes playing easier. Great tone and feel, who wouldn't like that?" - Dweezil Zappa

The Fuchs® amps really caught my ear at the Crossroads Festival in Texas last year. I'd Heard Kenny Wayne Shepherds’ tone, and it really knocked me out. Fat but girthy, articulate but never shrill, responsive and really, really nice. Ken said you gotta talk to Andy! I finally got to spend some time with the Fuchs® amps at the 2006 NAMM show, and asked Andy to send me one to check out. Since I received the ODS-100, it's become a big part of my live tones. Thanks a lot Andy, you rock! -Joe Bonamassa

"It makes my guitar sound huge!"

- Kenny Wayne Shepherd

The ODS-150 serves my needs in everyway. Tremendous clean headroom with a big bold bottom end and beautiful note separation. The best clean power I've heard yet and it doesn't end there. Switch to the overdrive channel and it will melt your face off." - Matt O'Ree

Andy & Annette Fuchs you have made me the happiest I've ever been while on a stage playin my guitar! Let her rip for the first time in Holland at the Rockin Roots Blues Festival in Ridderkerk and I have such a warm and fat sound from my Fuchs 150 that it elevated me to brand new heights in my playing. I've played em all but your technology, speaker design and your cabinets tops em all. It's the best amplification set up in my entire 30 year career! 100% truth mate. You rock me hard kids :)

- Savage

I've recorded with the same Fender® Vibro King for the past ten years. The second I played through the Fuchs® I unplugged the Fender® and never turned it on again. The way the Fuchs® is voiced, I can easily dial in those elusive, warm low mids with just a touch of overdrive. I LOVE it!- Jeff Golub

My musical lifestyle is based upon variety. I switch styles and musical venue often, from pit work for shows to sessions to dates with orchestras to live gigs ranging from rock to jazz to classical to blues to swing to… I have always imagined that making my living in a wide variety of styles would require a wide variety of amplifiers. That was until I discovered Andy’s amps, amps that can only be described as phenomenal. I have slowly dismantled my amp “collection” until I am now left with only Fuchs® amps. I have never been so delighted with my sound in over 40 years of playing. I can get ever tone I have ever imagined from the Fuchs® amp. Furthermore, these amps truly are musical instruments that imbue my playing with a musicality and sweetness that I have never really heard before. We all know about the inimitable Fuchs® Overdrive, but I want to make special mention of the lush, warm clean sound I get from these amps. The very, very best amps ever. THANKS, ANDY! - Joe Jewel
