Formula

Formula was born Travis Hardison on April 28th, 1988. Always having a sense to be different, he turned to Hip Hop as a child while his parents consistently tried to dump Country and Rock Music on him. Listening to such artists as 2-Pac, the N.W.A., Snoop Dogg, Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, and Rakim, he molded his own personal vision of being able to lead people with words. The power attracted Formula to the point where he started writing music, admittedly secret at first. Soon, he found a way to get his voice heard, buying equipment and recording songs any time he could. Over 300 songs were recorded in a year and a half period. The pain and struggles of that time in his life were evident with every song he recorded. The songs, however, fell on deaf ear, with Formula not knowing what to do with the music he had spent time creating. Formula then met Bryce Snow (www.myspace.com/brycesnow), the person that would be able to take him to the next level. A year and two albums later, Formula is now a force to be reckon with locally and nationally. With the Soul of the South and The Mu'Fuckin' Truth Mixtape, he established himself as a very versatile rapper, able to hit any subject and create a song for all the enjoy. Over 400 copies were sold locally of both albums in a 2 month span. While the number may not jump out as something big, Formula also has a full-time job to support himself out on his on. At the age of 19, he has another mixtape coming out with Bryce Snow in January of 2008 entitled WE GOT THIS, an extension of the hit song off Soul of the South. Also coming out in March '08 is his next solo mixtape, Champion Sound. A collaborative effort with Yung from Almost Famous Productions (www.myspace.com/almosttfamoussproductions) entitled the Prognosis is also expected for an early 2008 release. With a single, Lets Do It (Feat. Bryce Snow), available across the United States on the radio and more opportunities on the horizon, it appears that the sky's the limit for the Kid who just loves to smoke and rap. Formula it's an '08 thing, baby!
