DJ FOREST GREEN'S BIO
Starting her DJ journey in the 1990's San Francisco underground, Forest Green continues to explore the art of rocking the dance floor, and mastering the mix. 12 years later, she continues taking things to the next level, amazing crowds with her high energy, hot bass lines, and soul gripping grooves. Expect to hear only the freshest jamz, as she searches high and low for the most cutting edge, floor shaking, booty quaking EDM the world has to offer, and brings it straight to you!



She is super excited to be working on her own electronic music production, sometimes under the name Forest Green, and sometimes under the name Cute Things With Fangs on Cute Fang Recordings. Her most recent, original music productions will debut this summer, bringing her back to Europe, Asia, and all over North America.



Forest is a featured DJ in the popular, indie film GROOVE. GROOVE was accepted to the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in 2000, and was the first film bought that year by Sony Picture Classics. Groove is an independent feature film based on one night in the San Francisco Underground Rave Scene back in the early 1990s.
Tireless in her support of the rave as an outlet for personal and artistic expression Forest has rightly gained fame as a consummately professional DJ and live performer, earning the respect not only of her audience, but the promoters who work with her. She has a special love and dedication to collectives and artists that push the envelop of any electronic medium while keeping in mind the true freedom we are all entitled to through our artistic creation and exploration.
Her music collection began at the tender age of 13 when on natural foods grocery shopping trips with her mother. On these urban excursions Forest and her brother would get a drop off on Telegraph in Berkeley, California to go digging for music. Along with her music studies of piano starting at 8 and voice starting at 13, she was exposed to an expansive world of music, both through record hunting in the SF Bay Area, as well as going out dancing many weekends to neighboring clubs. These musical roots continue to have a huge influence on her eternal passions for musical exploration and diversity to this very day.



Forest Green has played at many internationally recognized clubs and venues such as WMF (Berlin), The Paradiso (Amsterdam), The Golden Pudel Klub (Hamburg), Flex (Vienna), The Level (Kuala Lumpur), Yeni Melek Gösteri Merkezi (Istanbul) as well as huge international festivals such as The Pohoda Festival (Trencin, Slovakia) and The WORMweb Equalizer!fest (Rotterdam). She has played at most of the recognized clubs in San Francisco such as 1015 Folsom, Mezzanine, DNA Lounge, Club 6, The End Up, 550 Barneveld, RX Gallery, Anu, 111 Minna, and many others. Her talents have been observed and heard in Berlin, Istanbul, Prague, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Vienna, Rotterdam, Bratislava, Toronto, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Columbus, Denver, Portland, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Reno, Boulder, El Paso, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Calgary, Pittsburgh, Memphis, Austin, Tampa, Orlando, Albuquerque, St. Louis, Madison, Augusta, Baton Rouge, Eugene, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Santa Rosa, Fairfield, Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, and for the past four years in a row in Miami, Florida for the Winter Music Conference. Forest Green has also played several live sets as well as been interviewed on local radio shows, such as westaddradio.com and thumpradio.com. In addition, she has performed several times on westaddradio.com, livedjs.com and thumpradio.com, all of which are online radio communities. She also hosted a 2 year, bi-weekly webcast on Groovetech SF from 2000 to 2002, and a year long, weekly webcast called Abstract Communications Network on Technostate from 1998 to 1999.

Forest grew up studying and performing music starting with choir, and piano lessons around the age of 8, then moving into private voice lessons, classical training and musical theater while continuing choir. Come time for college Forest auditioned and was accepted as a Voice Major to Cal State U. Northridge and San Francisco State U. She went on to continue her studies in classical, opera, and jazz at Cal State Northridge for four intense years until she decided to transfer to SFSU and go in a different direction. Completing her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from San Francisco State in 1995 with an emphasis in music, digital arts, video, multi-media, and theater.
Forest has produced and co-produced several weeklies, monthlies, and one off events. Some of her event production credits include producer of Concept One co-produced with CFCA and Teknotika SF, producer of Minimal Monday with Organized Chaos (a minimal techno weekly at The Hush Hush Lounge from 2001 to 2003), co-producer of several Daly City Records events including Baby Godzilla Record Release Party and Girls of Techno, and residencies, production and promotion with Sister, Teknotika SF, Hugger Mugger, Tech-On, Tetractys, Sonic Manipulations, Scatter, Friends and Family, Predawn, and Cloud Factory and guest performances, production and promotion work with Trouble and Blasthaus.com.
In 2004 Forest began working on Daly City Records with Mochipet of (Tigerbeat 6, B Pitch Control, and Daly City Records). Be sure to keep an eye out and an ear on this label- Daly City Records.
