The 2Founders landed their debut at an early age listening to a genre called House Music, which graced the radio waves in the mid 1980s after the hours of 10:00 PM. While every other grammar school student was listening to nursery rhymes and in bed by 8:00 PM, Jon and Mike were making off like they were sleeping and listening to 107.5 WBMX FM and The Killer-B WBBM FM B96 in their headphones while their Ma patrolled the hallway. Deeply inspired by the music, the two brothers began making their own mixes together in their bedroom at the ages of six (Jon) and nine (Mike) years old. A few years later, Jon and Mike began making dance music mixes for road trips for their traveling soccer team, the Berwyn Blazers. Having a limited capacity to make music as well as a tight budget and no recording equipment (other than a boom box), the two slowly, but surely added production gear to its list of assets as the funds became available. This meant working odd jobs around the house, paper routes, cutting lawns, DJing at the Berwyn Youth Commission and DJing events that did not even involve dance music. Accepting unwanted jobs for money generated enough cash flows to purchase and acquire the recording equipment necessary to gain more exposure.
Eventually, the brothers began acquiring music to play on phonograph record, despite the new popularity of compact discs since it was only way to purchase that type of music. The two also knew that they needed a distinguished name for branding purposes. Touring the community as the 2Fonzanoons, the duo branded themselves at various clubs, school sponsored events and many other occasions. 2F has DJed at various reputable bars and clubs and have mixed and met with some of the industry's most infamous and influential DJs including: Bad Boy Bill, DJ Bam Bam, Frankie "Hollywood" Rodriguez, Martin "Boogieman" Luna, Derrick Carter, Rick Garcia, Billy the Kid, Benji Espinoza, Fast Eddie Smith, Brian "Hitmix" Middleton, Mixin' Marc, Alex Peace, Bobby D, et al, at various clubs and events as: Subaru car show at UIC 2006, Hype 2005 at DePaul University, The Experience at Vision, Summer Jam at Grant Park, Debut Night at Harddrive Chicago, Hyatt, PS Chicago, IV Nightclub, Up All Night at Loyola University, Not Your Average Amateur Night and many others.
Today, the 2Fonzanoons (how it is written and advertised) produce and distribute music within the electronic dance music genre both at the retail and wholesale levels nationally and internationally. The company uses the DJ service as a promotional service to boost its sales and increase consumer awareness and product recognition. The two brothers also have over 200 tracks and songs ready for release and distribution. Some of the songs have been featured on the company's blog site through MySpace, Facebook and Soundcloud. Here, numerous people are exposed to their music and have come to appreciate the sound that they have been listening to since the mid 1980s. In addition, the 2Fonzanoons have spread their songs to many listeners across the world on various radio stations such as France's Hot Mix Radio and Radio FG and Chicago stations FearlessRadio, WCRX Radio 88.1 FM and UIC Radio.
