TO COME SOON!!!
With some bands, what you see is what you get. Fortunately, that is not always the case. Enter Floorbound. With their debut EP, Autumn Eyes, the boys burst on the scene in July '05 and haven't looked back since. Now, with the release of their long awaited follow-up EP "We Hold the Horizon", and a rapidly growing fanbase that belies their small town roots, Floorbound is out to make a name for themselves.
Floorbound's music is imbued with a sense of urgency that makes it both instantaneously accessible and incredibly infectious. Imagine the pop sensibility of The Used mixed with the melodic intensity of Thrice, and you begin to get an image of just a handful of the things Floorbound brings to the table.
In a world where the word "genre" has become overused and stale, it is hard to categorize new bands. This is especially true with Floorbound because their sound draws from such a wide variety of music. From the in-your-face, guitar driven rock of "Only the Lonely", to the post hardcore tinged "Miracle", to the cinematically epic choruses of "Maia", it is plain to see that Floorbound refuses to be pigeonholed into one genre or subgenre.
Floorbound, in one word, is rock. Energetic choruses have fans singing along before the end of their first listen, and remain stuck in the heads of listeners for days. This catchiness is the predominant reason why Floorbound is achieving such great heights so quickly. With a loyal fanbase that is growing at an exponential rate and their eyes set on the prize, it is apparent that the boys of Floorbound will not be denied in their quest for greatness.
LYRICS
Here are the lyrics to our new EP, we hold the horizon. Enjoy em, sing em loud and proud, it makes us happy in our hearts to hear you sing.
ONLY THE LONELY
Doctor Doctor!!
We've lost the lovelorn!
Everyone is screaming, but she cannot hear a thing.
We dreamt of cities,
But left in ruins,
All the words we're singing, they will never mean a thing.
But I've got a plan
on the tip of my tongue and it's fading, fading.
Your next pose might be
The one I've been anticipating.
You only want me cause you're lonely,
I only want you cause I'm me.
Savior, Savior!!
Bring back the wartorn!
Everyone is screaming
for our hearts to be at peace.
And just how low,
can glory go,
to keep us rescued from the ones that sweep us off our feet?
You only want me cause you're lonely.
I only want you cause I'm me.
LOST IN TRANSITION
Truth grabs ahold and with a string,
Wraps a knot tight around my(heart).
Realize what's beneath.
We'll give in to anyone.
See me falling down,
But I'm just trying to make everything better.
Can we make this all better?
Stop! Hear the porcelain of teeth
Whispering words to no one?
Until we finally realize our defeat.
And we'll give this away,
We'll give it to anyone.
Still I'm trying.
You run me around,
Spin into the ground.
And still I am far away from Home.
You run me away
From everything,
Until I can find a way
To make everything better.
YOUR NEW 1
So let me get this whole thing straight,
You lied, and it's going out of style.
Your words fell dead before they'd arrived.
It's all in the delivery,
So stop your lips from stuttering.
These words won't be the ones that take you home.
Address this note to everyone inside:
We wont be fooled by your complacent sighs.
Now there's nothing left for you to say
So bring this to an end and walk away.
Don't say that you want to hear me.
You've got no heart to listen,
And my throat aches from screaming
At you.
Tear off the strings for safety!!
We're walking out with no net.
Pray outstretched hands don't falter tonight.
MIRACLE
I threw this out the window
With no intent of coming back again.
To see the trees did they grow?
Or did they end up scattered in the wind?
So hold your breath
When telling stories,
'Cause once we say this
Can't take it back.
I've been trying
To walk for years they keep me here:
These thoughts, they're colliding.
But still I feel I'll need a miracle.
Said our goodbyes in the snow,
But something keeps me coming back again;
To see the trees did they grow?
Or did they end up scattered in the wind?
So hold your breath, and fade away.
MAIA
Raced right by,
and the silver streaks the sky.
The same situation, but I'm taking (over and over).
With every hope,
plot a pathway to the sky,
where silhouettes will spark to see you from afar.
So I'll take these words,
send them up as a constellation,
so even she, willingly, can find the way back home.
Sidewalks spin,
and I'm left alone again.
The same conversation,
but I'm taking over (and over)
This scatterplot for the scatterbrained,
It's not the same!!
It doesn't matter how you sway!
One day I'll wake,
as the whispers shake this place,
and transpose our course to north.
But words preemptive,
are leaving me listless.
Our brains are breached by all
that keeps us standing still.
