BAND HISTORY: The Flat Git It Gang started in 2003 when the lead guitarist Andre and lead singer Jan got together and found some amazing Radio Shows from the 1950's recorded in Springfield, Missouri. That started off the idea to form a Hillbilly-Country band in the same style. It's been a long time since then but The Flat Git It Gang is swinging like never before. After many gigs around Sweden and Europe the band has recently put out a CD on Vintjärn Records. A full length CD is also planned in 2009, so come on in and check out what's going on!



The Flat Git It Gang are:



Lead vocal:



Elsa Edlund: Elsa is a 21 year old gal from Stockholm. She looks like she's been picked right out of the 1950s - and what a voice!



Jan Svensson: Well known on the worldwide Rockabilly scene and a music enthusiast, also well known as a singer in bands like The Hi-Winders, Wildfire Willie and the Ramblers, The Orbitunes - watch out for this guy!



Christer Åberg Vocal and Accordion : Christer is a well known musician all over Sweden, he also play in his Cajun band Bayou. He can't wait to pick up his accordion to play and sing some nice Swinging Western Boogies for all you folks.



Lead Guitar:



Andre Hakwinson: Famous for being one of the original members of the Sleazy Rustic Boys from Enviken. Also plays in Los Bandhagos, The Clipjoint Cutups and plays the double neck 8 string steel guitar in Li'l Linn & Lookout Boys.



Fiddle:



Bo Nilsson: A country, jazz and bluegrass fiddler/composer from Stockholm, famous for playing fiddle on the worldwide mega hit Cotton Eye Joe that sold millions of copies around the world back in the 1990's. It's great to have ol' Bo in the band!



Steel Guitar:

Daniel Wigstrand: A steel guitar whiz from Stockholm well known for his very fine pedal steel playing. Now you can hear him on the 10 string Lap steel - its a pleasure to have Daniel in the band.



Drums:

Peter Bergqvist: Peter is a swinging drummer fom Uppsala. He used to play with The Flying Phantom and his Flaming Stars, but now we are very happy to have Peter behind the drums in the Flat Git it Gang.



Double Bass:

Anders Backberg: A legend among legends, he is one of the finest Bluegrass / Rockabilly bass players in Sweden and he has played with almost everyone. Now he's doing some singin' and beatin' that bullfiddle here with us in the Flat Git it Gang!



Fiddle:

Jonas Olpers: onas is playing twin fiddle with Bo and he is also our great sound technician. Jonas is also doing some fine singing and guitar playing in bands like The Rhythm Wranglers and The Sleazy Rustic Boys.
