America Make room for all talent , coming from South Florida! Trina , Trick Daddy,Jacki-O Rick Ross, Pit Bull, and of course Uncle Luke are some of the big name's to put South Florida on the map, but 2008/2009 , brings a boom for gay hip hop. Gay hip-hop, as in rap from a gay perspective. After , listening to the variety of different styles from these hip-hop artist, there was only one in particular that stood out from every body ells . He performs by the name of Diamond DIVA, but holds down the title as being (The Gay Queen Of Hip Hop/Florida"s Gay Daughter).
Diamond Diva, born as Kenyata Bryant, grew up in the mean streets of Miami FL in liberty city. & At the age of 10, he was introduced to Calvin Mills,Producer and Manager of the teenage group the puppies & which in return he was added to the nationally known group , called the puppies (Big Boy & Tamara Dee). He performed wit the puppies for about 5 , years. & After the teenage group got older, they all went their separate ways. (Diamond Diva) finished high school, and then went to Kentucky to continue his studies in Culinary Arts, Computechnology & Businessed. In which he got his degree in all of his studies.
In between studies, he missed the life of performing . So he began , to write more music here and there but simply couldn't get it together. It be came a sad day for the nationally known artist(Diamon D.I.V.A.) After , the passing of a very special friend ,in which he went through a depression stage. That put him in a standstill,that callus him to stop rapping for a year or two, but one day after trying to get over every thing the nationally rapper(Diamin D.I.V.A.) sat down one day ,& start it wighting down just how he felt about his best friend's passing , but with a rhythm. This became his first single, entitled life aint easy (times moves on) . The outcome from this song , brought friends and family to, wanting to hear more from the nationally known gay artist (Diamon D.I.V.A.). With the support of friends and family, he continued to write, 19 more tracks , all to go on a cd , called Designated Era. This album brought many more hit cd's behind it like, caution: in 1998 , homo thug in 2000, and exclusive in 2002. He continued to write and write more cd's , but he was still lacking something, So he decided to take a break.
ONE DAY I WAS INVITED TO A BIG PARTY, BUT DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WEAR , SO I WENT TO THE FLEA MARKET AND PICKED UP A PINK TEE. AND I WENT & GOT A PINK PANTHER AIRBRUSHED ON IT , AND HAD A QUOTE THAT SAID "TASTE DA RAINBOW BITCH" -- THIS WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST STRAIGHT PARTIES, AND EVERYONE NOTICED IT . (A BOY WIT A PINK TEE) , AND AT THE TIME THE SONG WHITE TEE WAS PLAYING. SOMETHING CAME OVER ME , AND MY HOMEGURL WHO INVITED ME WAS ONE OF THE DJS. I WAS DRINKIN AND FEELING GOOD, AND SHE GAVE ME THE MIC ,& ALL I CAN REMBER IS SAYING YEAP IN MY PINK TEE AND THE CROWD WENT UP! , SAID THE NATIONALLY KNOWN GAY" ARTIST(DIAMOND DIVA)
After that he had to make a follow -up cd. .in which he came up wit more & more hit signle's like Pink Tee, That Nikka and Whoa My Pussey , Pussey. Which got him internet Radio,& Radio airplay on 97.7, 89.5
93.5 Da Doo Dirty broadcast show ,Gay hip hop broadcast show's, and also a variety of interviews. He was still unsure his music was getting out, until he started getting email's from fan's & the L.G.T.B. Community. Da Doo Dirty broadcast show, gay hip hop broadcast show, the pride factory & more, all nationally known , that got word of this gay rapper Diamond Diva(The Gay Queen Of Hip Hop/Florida"s Gay Daughter). With all this support , he came up with more hit's like Why U Looking At Me which became a big gay anthem, across the United States. The First Punk Of Miami , was the second single Gay America/The New Beginning album is the follow -up cdthat let him know that he has open some doors for gay hip-hop and he will not stop , until they are completely in the hip hop game, Will Diamon D.I.V.A.
