Back in 1992, in the Lower Valley of El Paso Texas, a group of friends would gather. Some came just to drink and hang out; others were trying to learn their instruments. Out of this group of friends, a Fixed Idea was formed. Bringing together an eclectic mixture of music, from Cumbia to Reggae, Punk to Ska; Fixed Idea brought together a unique sound which would later become known as Chuco Ska. This sound has evolved into what has become known as the trademark sound of the El Paso Ska Scene.

In its early years, Fixed Idea was featured on several compilation CDs, and later became a part of Broken Bonez Records, with original member Pancho Mendoza being a part owner, until it became disbanded. Throughout the years, Fixed Idea has released 3 major CDs; ‘Skankin Oldies’ (1999), ‘Traditions of my Addictions’ (2002), and ‘La Muerte’ (2006). Currently, the group is working on their fourth studio album.

Years later, the band continues to grow and evolve under the stewardship of Pancho (Lead vocals, Guitar). Catering to their ever growing fan base, Fixed Idea is constantly playing local shows, often all ages and at low covers. Fixed Idea will continue to grow and expand, eventually spreading the unique style and diversity of their music to other cities throughout the country and the world. The Idea is Fixed in the minds of every member, and will be for many years to come.
