Hard Rock, Emo-core, rock whatever! They won a grammis (grammy) -95 and signed with Rick Rubin and American Recordings in -96 as well as did the legandary Lollapalooza tour in the states. Where dropped and soon picked up and did better then ever!

Fireside sprang out of the northern Swedish Hardcore scene in the early nineties. The band lived at this time (before they moved to Stockholm) in Lulea, and their first records are characterised by the bleakness that effects mant northern bands. "Do Not Tailgate" , the bands second album won a Swedish grammy in the hard rock category, and was something of a breakthrough for the band. Rick Rubens record company American Recordings released the album in America and Fireside became the first Swedish band to play on the Lollapalooza tour. But, after a long, hard slog playing in half filled venues, Fireside lost the will to carry on. The band started work with renewed energy on "Uomini D'Onore", their third album, which scared away some of their less open minded fans who prefered the more straight ahead rock of "Do Not Tailgate". It was not a easy to listen to album, but despie this the single "Sweatbread" gained radioplay. In 1998, "Hello Kids" was released, a double CD filled with B-sides, covers and out-takes.

Since the last record, the vocalist Kristofer has released a solo album, Pelle has worked in the studio with, among others Spain, Per has drummed on Kristofers solo album, and with Breach and Frans has just taken it easy. "Elite" came into existence in Pelles home studio in Grondal. Earlier, the songs had been worked on in the rehearsal room before the studio work began, but this time , all the songs were written in the studio. It is a strongly varied record, which begins with the soft and easy "Elevator Action", which could almost pass as alternative country, and reaches a crescendo with the title song "Elite", a twelve minute long instrumental tune. The bands hardcore roots have carried them towards a more experimental approach, akin to the Flaming Lips punk symphonies, with a handfull of folk rock thrown in. Some people will think that "Elite" is a pretentious album, but that's completely wrong - it's an ambitious and innovative record by one of Swedens most important rock bands.
