Fiona is a native of The East Coast of Scotland but has lived in the Highlands

for 20 years and is a fluent Gaelic speaker.

Fiona won the prestigious Ladies

Gold Medal for Gaelic singing at the Royal National Mod in Stornoway 2005 and

her performing over thelast few years has taken her to sing in New York, Holland,

Ireland, Lorient in Brittany, the Library of Congress in Washington, North

Carolina, Ireland, Wales and Virginia.

Fiona was delighted to be nominated

for best Gaelic singer in the Scots Trad Music Awards, December 2006 and 2007

and was voted BBC Scotland Traditional Music Personality of the Year in 2004.

released her debut album on Greentrax in Dec 2007 - Duan Nollaig, the first

ever Scottish Gaelic Christmas album a unique double CD of Gaelic Christmas

carols and Songs for all ages This unique album was produced for

Fiona by Irvin

Duguid , who brought a fresh approach and sound to traditional Gaelic song.



The Duan Nollaig Carol Book was published in 2008 - 16 songs arranged for

piano, voice & guitar- the only book of its kind in the world. The book was produced

by MacDug Music Ltd , a company formed by Fiona & Irvin in 2009.

Fionas

new album 'A Good Suit of Clothes' is due for release on July 1st 2009 and

is a unique album of Gaelic Emigrant Songs. The album will also be released

by Greentrax and was produced by Irvin Duguid. Featuring some of Scotlands

best musicians and singers, the album profiles both traditional and contemporary

songs, describing the troubles and successes experienced by Scottish Emigrants

over the last 300 years.
