Born in a small suburb of Tokyo, Nobuko Suzuki quickly knew that she was born to create beautiful things and found that her natural way to survive in adverse circumstances was to escape to a world filled with art and music.

She moved to London in 1994 to study painting and to achieve her degree in fine arts from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Nobuko also discovered Londons vibrant club scene and the sounds of electronic dance music. Not one to be a mere spectator, she knew at that point she would forge her name as a DJ and create her own mark on club culture.



After returning to Tokyo she began playing out regularly and quickly gained some noteriety for her original take on electronica and deep techno. In 1998 she began a DJ residency at the well known underground club "Bul-Lets" and still maintains that today and since has shared the decks with many artists visiting tokyo such as Space Time Continuum and Marc Wiser from Rechenzentrum and Kitty-Yo records., not only at Bul-Lets but at notable venues such as Orbient, Super-Deluxe, Ruby Room and the legendary club Yellow.



In 2002 Nobuko decided to step up her involvement in electronic music and began carefully writing her own music, first with the intention of creating the unique tracks she needed for her original styled dj sets, and then with more serious intent and often performing live. Her powerful and melodic live sets have grabbed the ears of some serious industry figures and gained support from names such as Co-Fushion`s frontman Dj Wada, Haruomi Hosono from the pioneering YMO, Antonelli Electr. from the label, Italic and DJ Rennie Foster, F Com artist and label boss of Futagotraxx.



Her first offering was a track "Voyage" on the 2005 CD compilation Second Bed showcasing some of the top artists to frequent the "Bul-Lets" venue. She followed that up in 2006 with her full length CD album Dotted under her new guise Nobuko Sz and the birth of her own small imprint Filen, a label created to showcase her own masterful recordings while she seeks out labels interested in supporting this talented emerging artist.



The sound of Nobuko Sz is a mix of detailed electronica with the raw honest melodic approach of classic techno reminisant of the motor city but injected with a pulsating backdrop of stripped down house percussion and influences from modern minimalism. The overall effect is a stormy, moody washed out soundscape that fits in the privacy of the listeners headphones but with the ability to transport a dancefloor aswell. .emotional power.



Nobuko is now well on her way to becoming a strong force in Tokyo`s rich electronic community and at the same time in parallel maintains a successful carreer in graphic and product design gaining much noteriety in this field aswell. Nobuko is truly a unique artistic being with natural born talent.
