The story of Green R. Fieldz starts in Willits California, where Zachary Guilfoyle a.k.a Green R. Fieldz was born on the evening of 4/3/1984 to mother Katherine Guilfoyle. he grew up in Mendocino County, world renowned for its major cash crop Cannibus. In fact, this areas boasts the production of about 1/3 of the WORLD's marijuana! Like many other single parents, Fieldz's mother's number one concern was to provide a loving environment for her sonas well as a good education. Fieldz started listening to hip-hop music at a very early age (about 5 yrs old). At first he started with such artists as M.C. Hammer, Run DMC, Vanilla Ice and Paper Boy. Soon after, when he started attending school he began listeneing to the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, Domino, Too Short etc. His mother did her best to keep her son away from that type of music, but she soon gave upseeing how fond Fieldz was of the genre. She then began encouraging her son to be more musically inclined.in rap as well. Fieldz always had a knack for memorizing the lyrics to tracks that he listened to. (fast forward to 2000) In the time between then and now, Fieldz began listening more to Artists from the Bay Area and closer to home such as E-40, RBL Posse, Mac Dre, Rappin 4 Tay, 11/5, The Luniz and Spice 1 just to name a few. Already knee deep in the Marijuana culture that was going on around him, Fieldz looked for a way to infuse his knowledge and love for weed with his passion for Music. He soon found that avenue when he met Michael Roy (FROZIN), another local who shared the same passion for dank and music that he did. The two instatly clicked, Fro had already been making tracks on on a Roland BR-8 with other local rappers such as PCU and KT the Orchestrater(who Fieldz refers to as the "godfather" of the Mendo hip-hop Sceneproducing tracks early on for the likes of Ray Luv and Mac Mall). Although Fieldz had already been starting to do his thing w/a group of Mendo rappers who called themselves SOS707: Sons Of Sin 707, it was not until he met Fro that he decided to take his music seriously. Soon after they linked up, Fro dropped his first compiliation entitled "Thangs Done Changed" which was distributed througout Mendocino County by the artists themselves. Seeing the success that the album had, Fro and the rest of the artists decided to quickly drop another album entitled "Welcome to Country CLub" which sold about 2000 copies in Mendo. Soon after that Fro released his solo album: "222 degrees below frozin", this being the first album Fieldz was able to shine on. Not much later Frozin and Fieldz hooked up with another artist out of West Oakland named M.R.(Mr Faulty) and his label "BlockMonsta Musik", who then was residing in Lake County. The two groups worked together and put out M.R.'s compilation:" I'm A MonSta" *The B.M. comp* which had a very good response in the stores. Throughout the past years Step Aside Entertainment (the current record label tha Green R. Fieldz represents) has thrown and performed at numerous show with many different artists.
