FIDO GUIDO

Fido Guido began to play the drum at the age of twelve in the historical hardcore punk band "S.F.C." in Taranto. With this band he records one 7 inch and tre albums from 1990 till' 2003 and developed a strong passion for the reggae roots culture and began to dedicated full time to reggae when S.F.C. interrupts activity in 2003. From that moment he begins to write lyrics aboute the social problematic that often the south-italian youth are compelled to confront and starts sing with the Rozza Sound in numerous locals and squats doing immediately talk about him. The first work of Fido Guido contains 13 tracks and is called "patrun' e sotte” (property and submissive) and sees the light in the July 2004 thanks to the help of Bombhead from "Roots inna Mix" that recorded the tracks and helps to print the first copies. The cd is an unexpected success, although is practically a demo come sold more than 2500 copies in few weeks. They succeeded numerous featurings and participations like Papa Ricky, PooliaKebab, Robert8 and Sciamano, Zakalicious, Malatesta, Luca Leoni, Pace Fatta, Gioman, Moddi, Jaka, Cajam, U-Rootz and other. Participates in the collections "Love University" with the song "core sus a core" (heart pon heart) produced by Don Ciccioman, this song will capture the attention of Irene La Medica that play the tune frequently in her radioshow "soulsista" on RadioDeeJay. He's also present in the collection "Reggae 4 Ethiopia" produced by RaggaMeridionalCrew. Appears in the mixtape cd of MadKid with the title "My Way", a super mix tape where you can find two big FidoGuido songs: "damme nu suène" and "jièdde" this one in combination with national free style champion Moddi mc. You can ear "datte da fà" pon the unchained riddim in "the twelve steps program" the 10 years annyversary mix tape of zioMarcello a.k.a. Godzilla, came out in may '06. Between 2004 and 2006 Fido Guido has opened concerts for Capleton, Barrington Levy, General Levy and Sud Sound System. In November of 2005 Fido Guido's second cd came out with the name of “Terra Di Conquista” (land of conquest), containing fourteen tracks, played, written and arranged, mainly from Fido Guido with the help of the drum'n'bass popular dj DATI, for its same label: the Zuingo Comunication. It comes chosen like single the tune "fore de cape" produced and printed from Erba Pipa Sound for the Salerno label "RupaRupa records" on 7" inch. The disk depopulates literally in the Italian dance hall gave a big push for "Terra Di Conquista", distributed from Jahmekya music. It will be actual Jahmekya, to July 2006 to pull out of a new big tune of FidoGuido "musica e parole" on the magnificent rhythm of Mightycez "Libere liriche". Present in the initiatives of the "committees of district" involves more youngsters in the activity of sing-jay across the recording studio and the label Zuingo Comunication and determines the "jonico style", always attentive to the political and social problems -------------------------------------------------------------------------



Fido Guido comincia a suonare la batteria all'età di dodici anni negli SFC storica band hc punk tarantina, sviluppa quasi contemporaneamente una forte passione per il roots e comincia a dedicarsi al reggae a tempo pieno quando la band interrompe momentaneamente lattività nel 2003. Comincia così a scrivere, quasi incessantemente, liriche legate alle problematiche sociali che spesso i giovani del sud sono costretti ad affrontare e a cantare con la Rozza Sound in numerosi locali e spazi autogestiti facendo subito parlare di sè.



Il primo lavoro di Fido Guido contiene 13 tracce si chiama "patrun'e sotte" e vede la luce nel luglio 2004 grazie all'aiuto di Bombhead dei Roots inna Mix che registra le tracce e lo aiuta a stampare le prime copie. Il cd è un successo inaspettato, nonostante sia praticamente una demo vengono vendute più di 2500 copie.



Si susseguono numerosi featurings e partecipazioni con Papa Ricky, PooliaKebab, Robert8 e Sciamano, Zakalicious, Malatesta, Luca Leoni, Pace Fatta, Gioman, Moddi, Jaka, Cajam, U-Rootz ed altri. Partecipa alla raccolta "Love University" prodotta da Don Ciccioman con la tune "core sus a core" che cattura l'attenzione di Irene la Medica che la suona frequentemente nella sua trasmissione "soulsista" su Radio DeeJay. Si cimenta su ritmi più dance hall con la sua traccia "no ne tenime bisogne"sulla compilation "Reggae 4 Ethiopia" prodotta da RaggaMeridionalCrew. . Partecipa inoltre sull' ultimo mixtape cd del dj tarantino MadKid "My Way", dove è presente con due tracce una delle quali in combination con Moddi mc. Si può ascoltare "datte da fà" su unchained riddim nel mix tape per i 10 anni di attività del Godzilla Sound "the twelve steps program". Tra il 2004 e il 2006 viene chiamato ad aprire i concerti di Capleton, Barrington Levy, General Levy e Sud Sound System.



Nel novembre del 2005 esce il suo secondo cd terra di conquista contenente quattordici tracce suonate, scritte e arrangiate, prevalentemente da Fido Guido per la sua stessa etichetta, la Zuingo Comunication. Viene scelto come singolo il brano "fore de cape" prodotto e stampato da Erba Pipa Sound per la label salernitana RupaRupa records su formato 7". Il disco spopola letteralmente nelle dance hall italiane e sarà una grossa spinta per "terra di conquista", distribuito da Jahmekya music. Sarà proprio Jahmekya, a luglio 2006 a tirar fuori un nuovo singolo di FidoGuido "musica e parole" sul magnifico ritmo di Mightycez "Libere liriche".

aprile '07, esce per l'etichetta "one love" il "maria riddim" del producer MacroMarco, sul quale FidoGuido in combo col compare Gioman, si cimenta regalandoci una fresca ed energizzante tune dal titolo "dammi l'erba";

ancora una volta su vinile per Jahmekya a luglio '07 la concious track "troppe vòte" su "yard d'italia riddim" sempre di M.Cez. Attualmente è al lavoro con il suo prossimo cd che uscirà prima dell'estate, sempre autoprodotto e sempre per la Zuingo Comunication.



Durante la sua instancabile attività live che lo ha visto toccare tutte le regioni del territorio nazionale, determina e caratterizza lo stile jonico, sempre attento alle probelmatiche politiche e sociali --------------------------------------------------
