Ferhat Öz born in 1985, Istanbul, he began his musical career in Istek Belde Fine Arts High School. He has studied cello and piano with Arzum Sengüller for seven years. During this period he began to be interested in learning and singing opera songs. In those years he also acted in some musicals such as “The Sound Of Music”, “My Fair Lady” and “Importance Of Being Ernest”.
After graduation from high school in 2003, he entered Istanbul Bilgi University Music Department by winning scholarship. At university, he studied vocal techniques and repertoire with Nukhet Ruacan; harmony with Selen Gülün, Onur Türkmen and Dirk Stromberg; ear training and ensemble with Donovan Mixon; and also miscellaneous ensemble sessions with musicians such as Ricky Ford and Imer Demirer.
In 2006 ferhat won “the young jazz singers competition” in turkey which is organized by Nardis Jazz Club and as a reward he gone to estonia for “International Young Jazz Singers Competition” and won “audience favorite” award. He also invited to Paris by legendary trompet player Ted Curson to sing in his new live album which released in April 2007…
Ferhat is continueing his performances in various jazz clubs in Istanbul with precious jazz musicians and also singing as the lead singer of "On The Road" Band whic is a Istanbul based soul, funk, rNb band, also continues his works with ted curson around Europe and USA and works as a vocal coach
