FAYUCA is a Three Piece Rock/ Reggae band from Phoenix, Arizona. The band's style is rooted in Ska-Punk, with Sublime and RX Bandits cited as heavy influences; There is an obvious latin influence in the band's music as well. In 2004, Fayuca released their debut album, Walk West, on local punk rock label, Lock and Key Records. By their second release in 2005 (Black Market), Fayuca surpassed expectations for such a new group and began to build momentum through consistent regional touring. The release of "The Assassination", in 2009, was able to keep this momentum snowballing. Their first independent release scored the boys a national tour where they shared the stage with national acts such as: Badfish, Authority Zero, The Supervillains and The Voodoo Glowskulls.
The music scene is saturated with copy cats and redundancy, while blending the sounds of latin Ska and Reggae/ Punk, in 2002, the trio set to find a local venue offering an opportunity where the boys would showcase this new and refreshing sound . After 6 months of local performances, TV showcases and playing in the valley's most popular ska/ punk venues, Fayuca recorded their first Demo at Liquid Sounds Studios in Tolleson, AZ. This recording allowed the the band a spot on local radio station, The Edge 103.9; they were also featured on local TV and several Indie skate & surf videos. Fayuca's distinctive sound set the band apart from a typical-local ska/ punk circuit, this original and diverse approach attracted the attention of ska/punk label, Lock and Key Records, in 2004, Fayuca signed a two album agreement.
"Fayuca is a touring beast" (Wicked and West Magazine- '08); "Touring 10 months out of the year we have proven there is no slowing down when it comes to our passion and consistency" (Gabo S. - Lead singer). In the winter of 2008, Fayuca organized and funded their first Southwest/ So Cal tour, The Ramen Noodle Tour. They performed to an average of 100 - 200 potential fans on and returned home to a nearly sold out room at The Marquee Theater with road buddies, Badfish. The trio instantly fell in love with the excitement of life on the road and used this drive to push their growing success. Following the release of "The Assassination", in 2009, Fayuca booked a coast to coast tour, "The Wha Ma Say Tour 2010" where they shared the stage with national acts such as: Badfish, Authority Zero, The Supervillains and The Voodoo Glowskulls. With the exposure from "The Wha Ma Say Tour 2010", the three amigos managed to maintain in the Ska/ Punk/ Reggae circuit and continue to release new material and perform in top venues and major festivals (Edge Fest, Fall Frenzy, SXSW) across the United States. Fayuca remains loyal to composing pure and honest music in hopes to conquer the world. One tune at a time.
