Fate Arising Bio:

Intelligent mainstream rock mixed with a melting pot of influences, signature guitar execution, and your grandmother's best warm apple pie. This easily describes one of Metro-Detroit’s newest and up and coming bands - Fate Arising.

It was July of 2005 when old high school friends Pat LaMar (22 - lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Zach Novak (22 - Drums), and Joe Wolford (24 - lead guitar) collaborated and began writing music together. Shortly after, the band members looked into several different bass players. Derek Tuttle (26 - backing vocals & bass) was the obvious missing piece of the rock quartet.

With a multitude of musical influences between the four members, the group agreed to keep their writing style geared towards mainstream rock with hints of alternative, progressive, and hard rock. The selection proved to be ideal as the band continued writing a diverse arrangement of songs.

In late December of 2005, the band began entertaining packed, loud and active crowds at local shows, most of which were at the Token Lounge in Westland, Michigan. After receiving rave reviews from fans along with venue requests and encouragement to keep playing, the band decided to go into the studio and start recording in August of 2006.

The band proceeded to record their first studio album, A Past Left Behind, at Minx Project Recording Studio in Farmington, MI. The album was released in late September 2006 and showcases the band’s talent and unique writing style throughout nine distinct tracks over the course of nearly fifty minutes of music.

More recently, they completed their second studio album entitled Reflections of a Lost Reality (recorded at Minx Project Recording Studio – released in November of 2007). The album contains eight tracks -- half of which are stand-alone singles, with the other half being an ambitious four-part concept that will blow your mind to hear coming from a local band. It has been said to be their best work to date. Several tracks from the new album have been featured on the two biggest rock stations in the Michigan area: WRIF (101.1 FM) and 89X (88.7 FM).

Currently Fate Arising is back to performing local shows. Soon the band will be seeking exposure in other areas of Michigan and Ohio. Be sure to visit Fate Arising on the web (fatearising.com and myspace.com/fatearisingmusic) to keep updated with any other ventures that the band decides to pursue.
