“The Nurse Who Loved Me: A Tribute to Failure,” is all around triumphant. This album pays tribute to one of the greatest bands of the 90s, Failure and the legacy they‘ve left the musical world. There are few bands that deserve a tribute more so than Failure, as they have defined a mighty sound, that has remained so influential to so many bands, in numerous different ways. It has been a labor of love to make this album a reality for the fine people at Pop Up Records, and in the end, the album is something they, and all Failure fans, should be extremely proud of. Not content on just one great cause, this tribute serves two of them. Paying respects to the timeless music of Failure would have been enough, but all the proceeds from “The Nurse Who Loved Me,” will be going to the Save the Music Foundation, a great and noble cause.

This tribute album introduces the world, and most importantly the fans of Failure and “space rock” in general to the new generation of rising stars. So many of the bands on this album show such potential, its hard to believe they are all united by one thing, Failure’s influence. Orion, Satellite Tragedy, (Damn) This Desert Air, Exeter, 30 Fathom Grave, and so many more of these bands have an incredibly bright future ahead of them, and in those careers are continuing on in the path once laid by Failure just over a decade ago. The influences are strong, but are given a fresh and exciting spin especially on the highly epic and phenomenal tracks from B.L. Barakus, Solare, and others. The album also features fantastic covers from pop-rock sensations Paramore, Stemage, Planet iD, Evangalos, Sex Club Reject, Rilian, The Company We Keep, Tablets of Orion, Emotron, and Catch the Sun. Don’t miss out on this amazing compilation as these are all bands to watch in the coming years. What better way to usher in these up-and-coming bands than hearing them perform theirs and your favorite Failure tracks.
