Jimi Hendrix Experience at The Lulu Show LIVE - January 4, 1969 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 08, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
This is the full and unedited 01-04-1969 live LuLu Show of Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding & Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix Experience band). The Experience starts with "Voodoo Child", and then was only to play "Hey Joe" thereafter, but stops in the middle of the song (Jimi forgot the words!) and rather plays "Sunshine Of Your Love", which Jimi first dedicates to the "same day split up" of the band known as, "The Cream". The main crewman in the background signals Jimi to cut his song short when it cuts into Lulu's end of show theme song. This is Classic Hendrix that no other can do! Enjoy, and especially watch how Jimi attempts to tune his Strat in the middle of "Hey Joe". You too, will say as Hendrix, "Woah!!"

The "South Bank Show" (Great Britain TV) in the early 1990's has Noel Redding discuss this session, but he went further back and discussed what happened "before" the show, in particular, the bathroom, before the show. As you may have guessed, the band went to the bathroom to have their "smoke" before the show, but it fell down the sink drain pipe in the bathroom! Noel Redding then found the BBC maintenance man and told him that one of them had dropped a ring down the bathroom sink's drain pipe! The BBC maintenance man was happy to help, but Noel insisted that he alone perform the maintenance and get the "ring" instead, which the BBC man was willing to do. Noel went on to say that after they got their "smoke", all was well......
