EXERCISE is a band that materialized in the basements of St. Louis in the summer of 2008. They combine the known with the unknown, the can’t-put-your-finger-on with the warm and visceral familiar. In less than a year’s time, EXERCISE was nominated for the Best New Band in St. Louis. Their distinct sound and stage set-up is reminiscent of something like Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory. Each show is an experiment in its own pulsing way, and they want you to be the guinea pig. They recently recorded their music with Ryan Wasoba of So Many Dynamos, and now present their meticulously crafted debut album, Grandma's House, as the result.

"Exercise gets it, and they’ve finally polished up an album for us to chew on. Grandma’s House is a promising debut, especially when you listen with your eyes closed."

- Eleven Magazine

"you already know that Exercise is going to be good before you even listen, and then you do, and of course you are correct in your assumption." - weeklytapedeck.com

"like a cassette tape that's been left out in the sun."

- Riverfront Times (Album Review)

"kinda like if Death Cab for Cutie toned down the whining and took a shot of rock n' roll juice"

- indiefeed.com

"The trio's songs are still all over the place"

- Riverfront Times (Live Show Review)

"Fans of bands like Animal Collective and Xiu Xiu will be motivated to perform extreme chin-ups, or at least run some sprints."
