ZELOS

ZELOS (pr. zay-loss) is a rock band based out of DC with a unique sound rooted in the fertile soil of the timeless melodies of classical music.
The Groveman brothers form the core of this four piece band and received their classical training from the Levine School of Music in Georgetown, Catholic University of America and the University of Maryland. After years playing tunes as a string quartet in the dark corners of D.C.'s elite wine and cheese parties, the brother's affinity for songwriting and live performance was awakened. Add to the mix a clockwork drummer with cool hair and you have the birth of ZELOS.
ZELOS' music has been described as a hybrid sound with brit-rock, acoustic, alternative and folk pop influences. However, the guys have this to say about the music they make:
"Whenever people ask us what kind of music we make, we have the hardest time answering that question. Instead of trying to spontaneously come up with an exhaustive list of art we just say, 'any music that strikes a chord of emotion common to humanity with individual originality.' We hope some of our music achieves this for our listeners."
The band is currently in the midst of recording a much-anticipated, full-length album slated to for release in the first part of 2011. Stay tuned, there's a good possibility ZELOS' soaring melodies and catchy hooks will keep you and your iPod happy for a long, long time.
