Onus began in late November 1998 founded by Adam Zellmer on vocals and guitar. The band had numerous line-up changes until 2002 when Onus saw a more serious approach to the music. The line-up at this point consisited of Adam Zellmer (guitarist, vocals) Brian Weber, ex- D.O.T.A.C. (guitar, vocals), Jason Kemp (drums), and Sandi Plaza (bass). A few shows were played with this line-up until Jason Kemp was forced to part ways with the group due to conflicting schedules. Later that year Brian VanWychen, ex-D.O.T.A.C. joined the line-up and the band went on to play with such notable bands as Disinter, Fleshgrind and Macabre. They also graced the stage at Milwaukee Metal Fest 2004. In late 2004 the band asked Sandi Plaza to leave and they were on the search for a new bass player. A few months later the spot was filled by Tony from Repeated Trauma, Tony would only stay for a short while and Onus found themselves looking yet again for new bass player. In the late spring of 2005 John Hill (Eternal Silence) joined the band. Onus recently decided to parts ways with drummer Brian Vanwychen and replaced him with one of THe fox valley's greatest Percussion talents, Matt Belinger. Who has played with Sounds like Brail and Talamasca. With the Release of their EP"November 17th", They plan on taking things to the next level and destroying the stage with the most unique Metal this area has ever heard. Plans to go far away on tour are currently in the works. 2010 brings not only a new year, but also a new member. Jeremy Schmitt joined on drums at the beginning of January, playing the first show later that week. Gaining more and more momentum, Onus is back with a vengeance!
