C'est en 1999 qu'Evanescent Soul, groupe de la région de Québec, amorce son intrusion musicale dans la scène métal nord-américaine. Influençé par les hordes de groupes européens, c'est particulièrement dans les styles black/death metal qu'ils ont forgés une musique agressive et très mélodique à la fois, rajoutant de subtiles touches de progressif. Ralliant plusieurs intérêts, c'est sans artifice qu'ES expose la dualité de l'être humain dans ses textes, traitant de la haine, du bien et du mal, de mythologie et de la force spirituelle humaine. Le démo Escape faisait entendre une formation très proche de ses racines et pendant plus de deux ans, le groupe composa environ dix morceaux tout en élargissant le cercle de ses influences. Observatory from tyrannical ages premier véritable album pour le groupe, vit le jour en décembre 2001. C'est le résultat de la rencontre de cinq âmes en accord sur une vision de la musique, la vision de la transparence. L'album reçut plusieurs bonnes critiques provenant de divers magazines et webzines, particulièrement aux Etats-Unis et au Québec. Tout ceci menant nécessairement au but et l'accomplissement ultime pour Evanescent Soul, les spectacles, le " live "!! La scène est le lieu où l'énergie converge pour un assaut dévastateur et puissant, ne laissant personne indifférent. Ayant partagé l'affiche avec des groupes de renommé nationale comme Anonymus ou internationale avec Strapping Young Lad, ou simplement des spectacles locaux dont l'un d'entre eux fit l'objet d'un enregistrement " bootleg ", leurs prestations sont toujours intenses. Toujours axé sur l'exploration, le groupe se départit des claviers immédiatement après la sortie du premier album et plus récemment il y eut départ du chanteur, problème qui se résolut immédiatement. En processus de composition constante, les nouvelles chansons sont plus death metal et progressives que l'ancien matériel. Les titres Brotherhood of hate, Hell Without Souls, Chapter of loveless, sont captivants et innovateurs, ayant un bon " vibe old-school " et une puissance maléfique en utilisant le bon dosage de leurs influences. Evanescent Soul vient de produire un «MCD» : Convent of Suffering, afin de faire découvrir aux âmes évanescentes la vraie nature de leurs âmes.

The " Escape " demo made hear a formation very close to its roots and during more than two years, the band composed approximately ten pieces while widening the circle of its influences. In 2001, the band made their first real album named "Observatory from tyrannical ages ". It is the result of the meeting of five hearts in agreement on a vision of the music, the vision of the transparency the album accepted several good critics coming from various magazines and webzines, particularly in the United States and Quebec. All this necessarily leading to the goal and the ultimate achievement for Evanescent Soul, the shows, the "live one"!! The scene is the place where energy converges for an attack devastator and powerful, not leaving anybody indifferent. Having divided scene with groups of famous international main road like Anonymus or with Strapping Young Lad, or simply of the local spectacles whose one of them was the subject of a recording "bootleg", their services are always intense. Always centered on exploration, the group immediately separates keyboards after the exit of the first album and more recently there was departure of the singer, problem which was solved immediately. In process of constant composition, the new songs are more death metal and progressive that the old material. The titles Brotherhood of hate, Hell Without Souls, Chapter of loveless, are captivating and innovating, having a good "vibe old-school" and a malefic power by using the good proportioning of their influences. Evanescent Soul comes to produce a demo album: Convent of Suffering, to make discover the evanescent souls the true nature of their souls.
