E TRIPPS was Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, I was introduced to hip-hop by my brother DJ DRES. I started listenning to hip-hop at the early age of 7. I use to watch my brother d.j. and also make pause tapes with various friends, In which rhyme sessions use to take place. Alot of the rhymes I use to hear were battle rhymes either written or freestyled, But the many different styles that I heard is what caught my ear. I use to write rhymes but was very frightened about actually getting on the mic, So that fear is what forced me to keep my lyrics to myself. I started rhyming at 14years old but the very first time I decided to actually say a rhyme In public I was 17. I use to study emcee's and their styles trying to mimic them in my flow. By the time I was 19 years old I was more concerned about having my own style, Of how I wanted to sound and drop my lyrics. From there I started getting more into battling and ciphers just always trying to impress the crowd, Which I think helped me out in the long run. Today nothing has changed much ever since, I like keeping a little bit of an old school sound to my style because that's what I grew up listenning to as a child. I think that's what makes me stand out a little more than a whole lot of emcees that you hear today. I always try to come with something a bit different then the next, Trying to get new ears to hear something positive. If you like gun talk then chances are that my music isn't for you, But if you're looking for something that goes against the grain sound wise, Then you should give me a listen. I'm a poet in my own right, I'm only trying to bring originality to a game where everyone sounds mostly the same, My motto is flood'em lyrically, Remain flowin', Never shallow or stagnant.
