Escomusic began in 2002 in Venice when singer-songwriter Paolo started a pop-rock oriented project with songwriter Ricky Dal Prà.
In 2003 they signed a contract with a producer for an album and a year later, the completed album's release was cancelled. Ricky worked a succession of different jobs while Paolo, still strongly believing in the project, took charge of the band full time.
In May of 2005, after 3 years of intense artistic collaboration and months of pre-production, Paolo and Ricky recorded 12 tracks at the Magister recording Area of Preganzol TV with special help from sound engineer Andrea Valfrè.
That October, they signed a management contract with "Big" Luciano Nicolini. Nicolini coordinated a plan to release their debut album in 2006 with the Pixel and Bo team.
Several local and regional radio stations responded positively to The Esco's music despite it not having a mainstream/commercial sound.
But the most important part of any band is the live concert experience, and thanks to the self-booking of Paolo Esco (afterwards assisted by Sandro Fusati), Esco gave several successful performances in 2006 in northern and central Italy along with a small tour in Sardinia.
On the Roman Tour they were guests on Fiorello and Baldini's broadcast "Viva Radio 2" where they played their first single "Blu Elettrico".
They also played in the summer show "Se rinasco…canto" on Rai2, performed several times in the Roxy Bar, and participated in initiatives created by the awesome Red Ronnie (a motorshow in Bologna supporting emerging bands performing original music). They also performed exclusive unplugged concerts at FNAC Milan and Genova.
In the summer of 2007, the band experienced a personnel change and their live concert activity intensified thanks to the Friendbands project.
The following summer, two of the members left Italy (one to Madrid and the other to Berlin). Instead of breaking up the band, they maintain a long-distance collaboration and meet every 3-4 months for a week of intense rehearsals to work on the new material that will be available in may 2011.
