EQUIKNOXX MUSIC

In about 1999 Gavin "Henry the Hawk" and friends started a Rap group at school and came up with the name Equiknoxx music one day while idling in the library and looking at words in encyclopedias, and from then they wrote numerous songs and had friendly hip hop battles with other groups in the school, Gavin was a very good songwriter at the time but his talent was not in delivering vocals so the Gavin started to beat the school desk while his group members delivered the lyrics.



After leaving wolmers in 2000 it was then that the Equiknoxx music group came to a break up because some of the members had migrated or had found other interests in life leaving Gavin to persue his dreams. The following year Gavin started attending the Exed Community College to further his Education and it was at this institution where he met "Jimmy The Tucan". It was then that Gavin started his interest in music production as Tucan introduced him to computer software that could create music. Shortly after the two teamed up and decided to keep the name Equiknoxx music where they met up with artistes like Lil Joe, The Judgment Squad & Gabriel and started doing music production with them and produced many songs that were recorded in The Tucans bedroom in Vineyard Town, Kingston. In about 2004 they started operating from a studio called BlackSand Records Where Tucan was appointed studio manager, this came to an end because of the two were not comfortable in that environment, It was leaving there that the two started to make several moves on there own, And it was on one of these ventures that they met Busy Signal who fell in love with one of there Tracks and recorded a Song known to the world as Step Out The song got an amazing response from people all over the world and was put out on The Greensleeves Ragga Ragga Ragga 2005 Compilation. In 2005 where it has been number one on Jamaican charts and many other charts worldwide. During this time, a mutual friend Nick Bobby The Blackbird Deane had finished school in Canada where he was also a Disc Jockey (Mix Dragon). As a longtime friend and producer it only made sense to join efforts in changing the face of music. Presently Equiknoxx music is a force to be reckoned with, and they have been doing productions with, Capleton, Anthony B, Turbulence, Monsta Twins,Italee,Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, Lil Joe, Beenie Man, Kevin Lyttle, Mezziah, Sizzla and many other known artistes out there.
