Epo is a band formed in 2000 thanks to the union of the artistic sensibility of guitarist and songwriter Ciro Tuzzi and the ideas of the producer and keyboardist Mario Conte; the aim is to provide a new approach to inspired and never obvious songs following the best Italian and international songwriting tradition.
In the winter of 2002 they record and print their debut album, Il Mattino ha l’oro in bocca, which immediately catches the attention of both audience and insiders.
In 2003, after having trod the stage of Premio Ciampi and having won third place prize for Best Fuori Dal Mucchio debut album, Epo choose not to continue the relationship with their label, and found blend'r, for which the debut work, re-titled simply Epo, is reprinted to witness a new beginning; the album contains a new version of Anna for a tribute compilation to Lucio Battisti enclosed to Il Mucchio Extra in summer 2005.
After a year and a half of work spent in pre-production and recording, Silenzio Assenso is released by blend'r and distributed Venus; the responses of press, insiders and audience to the record are once again more than positive.
The video of Sporco, the first single, is in rotation on the major music channels. The group is invited by Alex Infascelli to sign the most famous Italian indie couch, in the Mtv program Brand:New.
The video for second single, In Cattività obtains an even greater response. The video, filmed in Seville, Lisbon and Sagrès is often in rotation on MTV, Allmusic and Rock TV. Success crowned by the participation of Epo to Total Request Live, MTV's most successful program.
After a summer spent touring the stages of the best known Italian festivals (Italia Wave, Neapolis) EPO are invited by MTV.IT to an exclusively designed live gig also conceived for artists like Editors, The Styles and Cristina Donà.
In December 2007 MTV.IT publishes the international ranking of the top 10 albums of 2007: Together with Radiohead, Interpol, PJ Harvey we find EPO.
Since 2008 the need to return to barer sounds and more intimate atmospheres leads to the release of a free downloadable ep followed by a series of acoustic gigs with a new line up.
Currently, EPO is working on the new album slated before the end of 2010.

Gli Epo nascono nel 2000 dall’incontro tra la sensibilità artistica del chitarrista e autore Ciro Tuzzi e le idee del produttore e tastierista Mario Conte; l’intenzione è quella di fornire una chiave di lettura nuova ed attuale a canzoni ispirate e mai banali, nel solco della tradizione del miglior songwriting italiano, e non solo.
Nell’inverno del 2002 registrano e danno alle stampe il loro disco d’esordio, Il mattino ha loro in bocca che immediatamente s’impone all’attenzione di pubblico ed addetti ai lavori.
Nel 2003 dopo aver calcato il palco del Premio Ciampi e il terzo posto al premio Fuori dal Mucchio per il miglior album d’esordio, gli Epo scelgono di non continuare i rapporti con la casa discografica e di fondare blend'r per la quale viene ristampato il lavoro d’esordio reintitolato semplicemente Epo, a testimoniare un nuovo inizio; il disco
contiene una nuova versione di Anna per la compilation-tributo a Lucio Battisti allegata al Mucchio Extra dell’estate 2005.
Dopo un anno e mezzo di lavoro, speso tra pre-produzione e registrazione, Silenzio Assenso viene licenziato da blend'r distribuito Venus; le reazioni di stampa, addetti ai lavori e pubblico al disco sono ancora una volta più che positive.
Il video di Sporco, primo singolo estratto, va in rotazione sui maggiori canali musicali. Il gruppo viene invitato da Alex Infascelli a firmare il divano più famoso dell'indie italiano, quello del programma Brand:New.
Ancora più fortuna riceve il videoclip del secondo singolo, In Cattività. Il video, girato tra Siviglia, Sagrès e Lisbona è spesso in rotazione su MTV, Allmusic e Rock TV. Un successo coronato dalla partecipazione degli Epo a Total Request Live, la trasmissione di maggior successo di MTV.
Dopo un'estate in tour sui palchi dei più noti festival italiani (Italia Wave, Neapolis) gli Epo sono invitati da MTV.IT a partecipare ad un live esclusivo pensato per artisti del calibro di Editors, The Styles e Cristina Donà.
Nel dicembre del 2007 MTV.IT pubblica la classifica internazionale dei migliori 10 dischi del 2007: A far compagnia a Radiohead, Interpol, Pj Harvey ci sono anche gli EPO.
Dal 2008 la necessità di tornare a dei suoni più scarni, ad atmosfere più intime porta alla realizzazione di un ep scaricabile in free download seguito da una serie di concerti in dimensione acustica con una formazione inedita.
Attualmente gli Epo stanno lavorando al nuovo disco la cui uscita è prevista entro la fine del 2010.
