And she's just finished a new EP entitled, "The Cat, Beaver, Bee". Her single, "Has Country Gone to Hell?" has spent 10 weeks in the top ten of Neil Young's Songs of the Times website. Another single of hers, "Doc Bronner" was also featured on Shut Eye Records' The United States of America vol. 4. Recently, Emily's had the pleasure of performing at sevral music conferences and festivals, including the Midpoint Music Festival, and Folk Alliance.

Whether she's moaning out the blues, or belting out criticism for our National politics and Music Row, one thing is certain. Emily Herring will keep you listening.

"Herring twangs, plucks, and warbles like country singers of yore, gun-slingin' her guitar with a clear-headed progressive attitude and the "don't-mess-with-me" swagger of a true outlaw. Her brand of homegrown country pickin' defines America not just for the Red Staters, but for every single one of us" -The Portland Mercury"Alternately upbeat and bluesy, she brings a bespectacled chic to her unique yet authentic Texas country twang. Emitting gritty growls without being grating, Herring dons a nonchalantly fashionable straw hat and melds pretty high notes and skillful plucking with a strong American roots base." -Alley Hector, Just Out

"Her playing is what seals the deal. a mean Delta feel complete with the slide guitar."- Jason MacNeil, Pop Matters Magazine

"It's refreshing to hear something so out of the ordinary for a change."

- J.R. Oliver, Ear Candy Magazine

"Authentic and original and Emily Herring is echoing country's past for future generations!"

-Laura Turner Lynch, Kweevak Magzine

"Emily Herring weaves songs out of a bluesy country fabric that is so much a part of Central Texas. In a sea of sound-alike singer/songwriters, Herring demands to be heard."

-Phil Bailey,Ink 19 Magazine

"Herring is an original voice doing extraordinary things in the simplest terms. A big plate of Texas Country with a side of Delta Blues."- City Beat, Cincinnati

"Maria Muldaur singing delta blues & country. Dirty and gritty, damned if she don't get it done."- Hybrid Magazine

"You'll hear hints of Merle Haggard and Lucinda Williams in this tattooed, bespectacled blues-country artist's work. Go on and slide up and down that guitar neck with your bad self, Miss Girl."-Nancy Ford, Outsmart Magazine

"The songs are minimal and simple, yet they are glorified by their authentic representation of the old-country troubadorian spirit." -Ryan Hoffer, Shut Eye Records
