Matthew Rodriguez aka NewBorn was born in Chicago. By the age of 10 music had become his way to escape the everyday hardships of growing up in the Chi. The youngest of 4 he was always misunderstood, but when he wrote rhymes he felt like he could explain the things in his life that no one really understood. By the time he was 13 he recorded for the first time. From the second he stepped into the booth he knew that it was where he belonged.



Now 5 years later my only goal is to bring lyricism back into the rap game. To show that hip-hop isn't lost yet. We stuck in a generation of meaningless music but hip-hop still lives. I'm inspired by true music where the artist actually takes the time to say something worth while, and also have the creativity to make it good. My first mixtape is in the process of being done. So I wait patiently for my time to shine.
