Looking for one
If an ambitious, hardworking band with absolute devotion and perseverance is what you feel as a record label is necessary for success, then Embers Fall is what you’ve been searching for. They originated from a small town known as Kingston, New York, and have managed to transform from three friends jamming in a basement, to a serious well put together ensemble of talented musicians. Starting out in the winter of 2007, Embers Fall began with Matthew Whittaker as the lead vocalist/drummer, David Wirhowski as the bassist/vocalist, and Andrew Woodard providing the rhythm guitar. Since then, Embers has been through a series of member transitions but currently is set at a compilation of six members, with a diverse range of ages (15 to 25) but an equal grasp for the love of music. Described as being a melodic hardcore scream-o genre of music.

Drew Tarttier (guitar, vocals), David Wirhowski (bass/vocals), Matthew Whittaker (lead vocals), Andrew Woodard (guitar), Daniel Chahanovich (drums) and Cody Robinson (keyboard, vocals) are what make Embers Fall the extremely determined band with aspirations of one day making it big.

Of course, as with all fresh bands, there comes a whopping budget of zero dollars. Despite money issues, lack of managerial assistance, and just completely being self-reliant, Embers Fall has managed to play numerous shows with signed bands and local bands in a series of locations throughout New York. Only being able to meet two times a week for practice, the guys managed to come out with a total of thirteen completely original songs, not one sounding alike, two CD’s and band shirts, while still creating new sounds for new songs to come. Their first CD was titled, Life With Progress EP, and gave a preview to what was expected on their full length which is titled, Broken Cathedrals. They recorded at the Leaning Tree Studio in Saugerties, New York under the talented direction and mixing of Mr. Sean Paul Pillsworth. After a strenuous and tiring two weeks of recording, the band put their money together and sent Broken Cathedrals to Nada Recording Studio to be digitally mastered, keeping the satisfaction of their fans, and hopefully record labels in mind.

Embers Fall hard work is not only recognizable through their recordings, but also through their experiences performing. They have been privileged enough to be offered shows and to have played with bands such as, And Then There Were None (Tooth & Nail Records), I Am The Pilot (Broken English Records), Thieves And Villains (Victory Records) and many more. Their hard work and overall talent was truly displayed when out of ten bands Embers Fall won the Kingston High School’s Battle of the Bands in 2008, and defended their title at this year’s battle. With such little exposure Embers Fall is really searching to expand their outreach and get their music known. They hope for nothing more than a record label to see the same potential in them that every fan sees, and to one day tour the country and share the music they so carefully created with people who appreciate what they do, and what dreams they have. There may be six members, but Embers Fall is one band, with one beautifully unique sound, that if given the opportunity and provided the proper guidance, would work hard for what they love to do and leave an unforgettable mark on today’s music scene.
