BIOGRAFIA DE MAKARAKA



En 1978, en la República Dominicana, nace el joven Jhosy Rodriguez, por sus padres Josefina y Guarino Rodriguez Ortiz, en el barrio de Pueblo Nuevo, Santiago. Estudio en el Colegio Padre Villini, y a la edad de 13 le llego el sueño de muchos Dominicanos. Inmigro a los Estados Unidos radicándose en Harlem , Nueva York. Los Rodriguez vivían en los projectos Grant de la 125, entre la cultura Afro-americana. Dominicano al fin y con su música en la sangre, comenso una pequeña compañia de Dj's, con sus hermanos Elvin, Danny, Joel, Haydee, Nena,y sus primo Will y Frank. Y con su Dominicanidad y su amor por la música de su país, se les ocurrió escribir canciones y cantarlas en su escuela. Alborotaba su hora de almuerzo y sus amigos los rodeaban para escuchar sus canciones y su flow. Durante su escuela e Universidad, trabajo en Mc Donnalds, Fayva shoe store, Doctor Jays, Y Mega 97.9.



A temprana edad conoció a su media naranja, su presente esposa y madre de sus cuatros hijos, Walkiris Rodriguez.



Con su ambición por la música llego a comprobar su talento frente a Norty cotto y la compañía discográfica Cutting Records perteneciente a Aldo Y Amado Marin. La casa discográfica le dio la oportunidad de agregarse al Grupo Sancocho, y con sus ideas y estilo único el grupo Sancocho dejo una marca en la historia del merengue house. Canciones como Tumba la casa, Mujeres de farmacia, y Se parece a ti. Luego paso a grabar una producción discográfica de Reggaeton con la casa discográfica Univision Música Group, bajo el nombre de Jhosy & Baby Q.



Después de su larga ausencia Jhosy Rodriguez decide regresar al pueblo y con música de su pueblo. MaKaRaKa, corto para macarakachimba es un pueblo Africano. Sus amigos los bendijeron con ese nombre y de ahí salio MaKaRaKa y La Grande Liga. Un estilo único e imcopiable. Merengue típico en vivo, pero con un flow urbano,letras bilingüe, y temas pegajosos. Humilde y sincero Jhosy ( Makaraka) hará su ultimo atento a la industria musical con una producción como nunca antes hecha. Una producción con canciones que han dejado al publico con ganas de escuchar mas. Canciones como Sexy Back,Saka Waka, La Tiradera, e You Don't Know Me, son las que serán parte del álbum que hasta ahora será el mas esperado. El álbum de Makaraka Y la grande liga será titulado Rock on!, bajo su propio sello discográfico Rock on ent.

Biography of Makaraka



In 1978, in Dominican Republic, Jhosy Rodriquez was born to Josefina and Guarino Rodriguez Ortiz, in the neighborhood Pueblo Nuevo in Santiago. He went to school at Colegio Padre Villini. At the age of 13 he was able to live the dream of many Dominicans. He immigrated with his family to the United States planting their roots in Harlem, New York. The Rodriguez family lived in the Grant projects on 125th, in between the African American culture. Bring Dominican though, and with his music in his blood, he began a small DJ company with his brothers Elvin, Danny, Joel, Haydee, Nena and his cousins Will y Frank. With his "Dominicanidad" and his love for his music and his country, it occurred to him to write songs and perform them at his school. He hyped up his lunch hour and his friends surrounded him to hear his songs and his flow. During his high school and college years he worked in McDonald's, Fayva Shoe Store, Doctor Jays and Mega 97.9.



At a young age he found his other half, his present wife and mother to his four children, Walkiris Rodriguez.



With is ambition for music he came to prove his talent in front of Norty Cotto and the record label Cutting Records belonging to Aldo Y Amado Marin. This label gave him the opportunity to become a part of Grupo Sancocho. With his unique ideas and style, Grupo Sancocho left a mark on the history of merengue house, with hits like "Tumba la Casa", "Mujeres de Farmacia" and "Se Parece a Ti". He then went on to record a reggaeton album with the record label Univision Música Group, under the name Jhosy & Baby Q.



After his long absence, Jhosy Rodriguez decided to return to his people with the music of his people. MaKaRaKa, is short for Macarakachimba which is a town in Africa. His friends blessed him with this name and from there came "MaKaRaKa y La Grande Liga", with a unique and impeccable style of Merengue Tipico live but with an urban flow, bilingual lyrics and contagious scenarios. Humble and sincere Jhosy (MaKaRaKa) will make his last attempt at the music industry with an production like none before. A production filled with songs that have left the public wanting more! Songs like "Sexy Back", "Saka Waka", "La Tiradera" and "You Don't Know Me" will all be a part of this album that, until now, will be the most anticipated. MaKaRaKa Y La Grande Liga's album will be titled "Rock On!" under his own record label Rock On ent.

Thank you Lord for taking me where you have, I know where you will take me now it is because that is where you want me to go. Thank you to all the people in this industry who have listened to me and the people who know me for several years. The people who know where I come from and who truly know who I am and how I am.
