DJ Dona Dee

Pioneer Music Producer , Mixing and Scratching DJ and Multi Instrumentalist DONNA DEE aka ELF.

Donna Dee began her music production career in 1996, already a well known dance DJ on the club circuit and resident at Kiss Fm’s club nights, London.

Donna produced her first record “I want your love” a track that was signed instantly and play listed on many radio stations in UK.

This track opened doors for many other music producers and was one of the most famous tracks that created the 2-step sound.

She then went on to release The Album SPELLBOUND on Mecca records, this received Album of the month in many newspapers and magazines all over Europe.

Donna then teamed up with DJ Deekline in the year 2000 and created a DJ partnership called Deecoded .Together they started Rat Records and helped create the Uk Breakbeat sound.

She produced the first tracks on this label and also co produced "I don''t Smoke" which was a Top 10 hit in the UK.

In 2001 Donna Dee went on to develop her sound , influenced by bands like Portishead and Massive Attack, Donna used her guitar and piano skills and recorded down tempo tracks with string sections and funk musicians. This Album was called "Breaks in the Heart" and was appreciated by both 2-step fans and rock fans and crossed musical boundaries.

In 2001-2006 Donna worked along side DJ ILS as a co musician and songwriter and worked on his last 4 Albums including Hit Album "Bohemia" and Hit tracks "Angels" and "Lurvin U".

In 2003 Donna Dee developed the concept Event "THROWDOWN"

(see myspace.com/throwdownuk) this event was dedicated to London’s hip-hop scene and funk style dancers. This event has now been running 6 years and has done 2 world tours and it is one of the most successful Hiphop nights in London.

In 2007 Donna Released "Between The Worlds" Album this included the track"Always" which was also released on ILS Album "Paraniod Prophets".

In 2008 Donna recorded a chilled acoustic album called "The Wheel" with Donna concentrating on her Vocals and Guitar Skills.

Donna has been behind the early training of many other Music Producers including Drum n Bass Vicious Circle, NDubs, Dj Quest, Dj Deekline and many many others.

Donna Dee now lives between Bulgaria and London, She Is the Scratch DJ for BUlgarians Famous Underground Triphop Band Nasekomix and is currently working with them on future projects.
