From the Great Southwest comes a collective whose main purpose is to crush, kill, and destroy the negative forces that are currently polluting the artform. Instilling the traditional boom-bap rhythms, raw lyricism, soulful vocals, and ill scratches with a 'dirty desert vibe' is what defines the Effin' stupid fresh sound.
The Sumbodies consist of seasoned emcees, a drunken jammaster, a venomous songstress, and ecclectic beatsmiths reppin' Arizona & New Mexico. Members include James Ciphurphace, DJ Grapla, Lee Hybrid, Scripts G.O.D., DiggsTown Thompson, Simone Hines, and a production squad called The Track Animals (Scorpioflo, I.C. You, Philly Mumblez, A.O., John Henry, Aelius Heroin, eeL, The Dirt Merchant, and Quaddafi).
The Effin' crew has been rockin' spots since the early 90's and they have shared stages with the likes of Cypress Hill, Ras Kass, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah, Jedi Mind Tricks, Blueprint, Sharkey & C Rayz Walz, Aspect-1 (Project Blowed), Rheteric, Blak Watr, Sirah & DJ Lenny Ducano, Generik, and Mine+Us & DJ Hoppa.
Their debut LP 'Cactus Stew' provides 21 servings of healthy hip-hop for those who have an appetite for music with a meaning.
