BIOGRAPHY
"Rock needs to re-invent itself and be more experimental. We're trying to push boundaries and use all the technology we have to make great records, while still staying traditional enough to be a rock band." Trevor Hurst 1997
This statement over ten years ago is valid now more than ever in a time where bands are manufactured and released with one or two hit singles and are forgotten 6 months to a year later. Many bands aren't pushing the envelope and are going the "safe" route also not experimenting outside of what they think the industry is asking from them via MTV, Much Music, Myspace and various other mediums.
Econoline Crush was formed 1992 in Vancouver BC and released the first EP entitled " PURGE" in 1994 garnering the band a Juno nomination. 1996 marks the
second release for the band and sold 11,000 albums to date solidifying the band as a solid draw in their homeland of Canada.
"The Devil You Know" was released in 1998 and was recorded by Sylvia Massey-Shivy (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Tool, Johnny Cash) and spawned singles such as "HOME", "SPARKLE AND SHINE", "ALL THAT YOU ARE"and "RAZORBLAIDES." This album marks the most successful venture to date and has been certified
Platinum in Canada with 112,000 sold to date courtesy Nielsen Soundscan. Econoline Crush toured with such bands as KISS , Foo Fighters , 3 Doors Down ,
Buckcherry and many others in North America along with several successful tours of Europe.
After the success and the extensive touring schedule behind TDYK the band went to record with Bob Rock (Metallica , Motley Crue , The Cult ) and the result was a smash hit single " YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE" that was added to Big Shiny Tunes 4 being the ONLY UNRELEASED TRACK on the compilation with
800,000 sold in Canada.

In 2000 the band headed into the studio in order to record " Brand New History " with John Travis (Kid Rock) in Los Angeles and recorded the most experimental record to date in the band's career. After extensive touring south
of the border and with the band gaining a solid foothold on American radio the bands label folded. The band came back to Canada for a very successful headlining tour from the Maritimes to Vancouver and in December 2001 Hurst decided to pull the band over for a "break" in order to re-evaluate the bands position with each other and in the ever changing music business.

Trevor formed the band "HURST" with Ross Childress (Collective Soul) and toured extensively through Canada supporting many bands that had shared the stage with Econoline Crush in the past. These tours gave Trevor the chance to really connect with fans and learn of the impact that Econoline had on many of their lives, and were now fans of Trevor's current project. The " HURST" project received a decent amount of popularity but in sessions to work on the full length album many songs took on an Econoline Crush flavor more than the poppy styling's of Ross Childress of Collective Soul. Now Trevor refers this
as " my Chris Gaines portion of the program" referring to country star Garth Brooks alter-ego.
In 2007, Hurst announced on his MySpace page that he was working on a new Econoline Crush record and their new album, Ignite, was released on January 15, 2008. Ignite marks the 5th release for the band and was done as a 100% independent project marking this the first time in the band's career. With the new single DIRTY the band hit the road with bands like Three Days Grace and Seether, 3 Doors Down, Staind, Hinder, and Alice Cooper .
In 2009 the band continued to perform at festivals across Canada, including the Halifax Rocks Festival with KISS
