With new material set for release in 2010 following her National TV debut and a growing fanbase, 24 year old Em’s star is beginning to rise. Em’s music is described as a mature breed of pop/rock as she cites such influences as Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry and Paramore. In 2008, 23 year old Em teamed up with Juno Award winning producer Russell Broom (Jann Arden, Josh Grobin, Sam Roberts) to produce a rocking debut album entitled; “Dream it Up” that has since been gaining momentum online.



Em was recently chosen out of hundreds of bands across Canada to be featured on Season 2 of MuchMusic’s disBAND hosted by Greig Nori (Treble Charger, Sum 41, Hedley). She looks forward to unleashing a new song live on her National television debut. Dubbed “The Darling of Social Media”, Em hosts weekly online chats via her JTV channel “EmTV”, and is constantly dreaming up ways of reaching a larger audience. Em recently competed in Nissan’s Canada wide social media contest entitled Hypercube. Using her web-based fans and social media platforms, she competed against 500 other creative individuals from across the country to win one of 50 Cubes. Coming in second in number of votes, Em was handed the keys to her new car in Vancouver. In early 2009, 101.5 Energy FM Calgary awarded Em the ultimate JUNO experience when she claimed the most votes for her song “Right Way” in their online competition. They sent her to Vancouver to walk the ETALK Red Carpet, perform at JunoFest and attend many other industry events.



This petite pop/rocker has come a long way since her quiet days growing up on the prairies of Alberta. Raised on a farm feeling isolated from her peers is where Em first began her music career. After discovering her mom’s old guitar, Em taught herself how to play and songwriting became her outlet…and eventually her identity. Selling her college textbooks paid for her first studio session and what started as a 5 track demo, turned into her first full length album. Em has been busy performing across the country from Vancouver to Toronto. She has performed at MuchMusic, taken the stage at JunoFest, 101.5 Energy FM’s Canada Day Celebrations, and supported Faber Drive during the 2009 Grey Cup celebrations. With breakout material set for release and a worldwide audience who’s eager for more, Em is on the cusp of stardom.
