ADAM SKY

ADAM made his 1st record aged 11 years,in 1979,as part of the kinderpunk group "THE STUPID BABIES".

The song, 'BABYSITTERS' was on the EARCOM 3 e.p. on FAST PRODUCT records along with german electronic pioneers D.A.F. who hugely influenced Adam

The song was regulaly played on the JOHN PEEL radioshow and SIOUXSIE SIOUX told Adam ,years later,and much to his delight, that she allways carried a copy in her handbag and pestered djs to play it when she went to clubs.

In 1986 Adam formed DISKORD DATKORD with JONNY SLUT(dj and host of club NAGNAGNAG in london where adam was a regular dj and performer)and his brother TINLEY,then known as TRASHMASTER T(who made the acid house classic'GARDEN OF EDEN' 1988).

They only released one single(of the week in N.M.E.),a cover version of X RAY SPEX's 'identity' which included samples of the original played over a MANTRONIX bassline.Possibly the 1st ever ELECTROCLASH record?

Also around this time Adam had another project called 'THE LEGION OF DYNAMIC DISKORD' who released a version of DAVID BOWIE'S 'Rebel Rebel' ,which sampled,bizarrely, THE NOLAN SISTERS and CARMEN MIRANDA.

This was played regulaly on STEVE JACKSON'S then pirate KISS FM radio show.

In 1988 Adam(who had by now become ADAMSKI named after the UFO enthusiast/space traveller GEORGE ADAMSKI) met his house music mentor JIMI POLO from CHICAGO,U.S.A

They moved into adjoining bedsits above THE PARADISE KEBAB SHOP in Camden ,London and JIMI taught Adam how to use a sequencer and 909 drum machine.

He also introduced Adam to many of his house music heroes from Chicago like ADONIS,MARSHALL JEFFERSON and ROBERT OWENSAdam ,in turn ,provided JIMI POLO with the much-sampled(by BLUR etc) piano riff for his house music classic 'BETTER DAYS'

So in early 1989, following JIMI POLO's lead Adam started taking his sequencer,drum machine and sampler to nightclubs,plugging into the dj mixer,and playing live mixdowns of his self-composed tracks.

and went from playing after hours parties in LE PETIT PRINCE in Kentish town,London,which was owned by his then manager,PHILIP RAPIER-SMITH to playing at all the legendary and pioneering house clubs all over britain including SHOOM ,HEAVEN and SOLARIS in London,the HACIENDA in Manchester,the SUB CLUB in glasgow and UNDERGROUND in Liverpool etc etc.

He was resident spin-in techno musician in the world famous AMNESIA nightclub in IBIZA alongside the legendary DJ ALFREDO.He was also appearing at many of the early,illegal raves and warehouse parties in the UK such as SUNRISE,ENERGY and BIOLOGY and had his 1st pan-european hit with the instrumental track "NRG".

In 1990 he had a massive hit with the track "Killer" featuring the vocals of SEALThe song has since been covered by GEORGE MICHEAL,german twance dj ATB, SUGABABES and most recently SONS AND DAUGHTERS

in the early 90's Adam continued to produce artistic dance music and work with such diverse talents as MARK STEWART, NINA HAGEN,AFRIKA BAMBAATAA,ELTON JOHN and RICARDO DA FORCE of THE KLF



he also partook in procreation around this time and followed through.and spent time developing songwriting,production and djing skills In 1998 he released "ONE OF THE PEOPLE",featuring the vocals of GERIDEAU which was another big tune,especially in Ibiza and Italy

in 1999 adam moved to italy and made his last album as ADAMSKI'MUTANT POP'.and the single 'IN THE CITY'.again featuring gerideauunfortunately adam got royally stiffed by the record label and the release was fairly low key.italy onlyhowever adam started to get regular bookings as a dj at this stage



as is typical with italians for some reason they often misspelt his name on flyers for these clubs and parties misplacing the letter 'i' with 'y' .he took this as a serendipitous prompt to remix his name to ADAM SKY for the new millenium which would also symbolic his more dj orientated and refreshed approach to music making.



When his old chum JONNY SLUT began the seminal NAGNAGNAG club in 2002 ADAM SKY was the guest dj for the opening night and became a regular guest there throughout it's durationalso with his live show that featured guests such as jonny himself,BOY GEORGE ,DANNY WILLIAMS(the legendary MOONRIVER singer)PINGPONGBITCH'S LOUISE PREY.having been re-energized by the so-called electroclash scene Adam has since lived between London,Barcelona and Berlin and worked as a CDJ,musician and producer all over the world



ADAM SKY has appeared in acclaimed international clubs such as WOMB in Tokyo,PANIC and SOCIAL in Paris,CLUB RIO in BerlinGAUDI and KRISHA in MoscowSPACE in Ibiza etc etc.



his track 'APE-X' was released on french label KITSUNE 2006 who also released his collaboration with THE WORLD DOMINATION.'GALACTIC LOVER' the following year.



some rmx work includes MISS KITTIN + THE HACKER,ROBERT OWENS ,CRAZYGIRL and NAMOSHhis version of WIRE'S 'I AM THE FLY' featuring CROSSOVER was on the 1st NAGNAGNAG compilationanother track 'LARYNX' with singer SHAFIQ was released on DAMIAN LAZARUS's revered CROSSTOWN REBELS label

recent remix work includes RIOT IN BELGIUM,BOMB THE BASS,ALTEREGO and LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY exclusive versions of all these original songs and many more form the backbone to Adam's unique dj sets



ADAM SKY AND MARK STEWART 'WE ARE ALL PROSTITUTES'(a remake of the classic popgroup track from '79)was released to acclaim on EXPLOITED RECORDS of berlin last year.this and especially the CROOKERS remix was a massive dancefloor smash



Adam's imminent releases are ADAM SKY AND DANNY WILLIAMS 'THE IMPERIOUS URGE' also on exploited and a joint effort with sweden's ZOO BRAZIL as BAZOOKA LIZARDS 'CIRCLE JERK' on TURBO RECORDS
