Dylan In The Movies

Dylan In The Movies is the musical outlet for Boston-bred and current Oakland based-songwriter/singer Brian Sullivan. In 2006, the band's self-released ep Feel the Pull earned the band an indie cult following and caught the attention of DJs across the globe, including those from KCRW, KEXP, and 6 Music on the BBC. Their debut full-length "Sweet Rebel Thee" (Deevius Records) will be released in the early 2012 and features guest appearances from The Watson Twins (Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins) and Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses, Breeders, Belly), who also shares a co-write credit on the track 'Girl With the Black Tights.' Brian began playing drums at the ripe old age of eight and strumming his older brother's right-handed Fender Telecaster backwards (Brian's lefty). Soon Brian got his own guitar. It was during a trip to Ireland at the age of sixteen that changed everything: "I ended up gigging with a local band; a two week trip to visit family turned into a hazy summer spent touring Ireland in a van. I knew then exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life - make music." Dylan In The Movies creates a mood within its musical landscape. There is an emotional rending that is explicit and revealing yet pleasantly delivered. A blend of nostalgia, loss, and redemption haunt these dreamlike melodies and killer hooks to astounding effect.
