How long have you been producing and have you always produced House music?

I have been producing for about 16 years now. I started producing Funky House back in 2006, from just before I gave two tracks, ANTHEM and 1 DROP to a couple of DJ’s. I have been on the House circuit for 3 years now and believe its been a struggle and still is.

What are your musical influences and inspirations?

My musical inspiration has to be Michael Jackson in everyway.

What are your 3 favourite dubplates of all time?

DJ EZ’s intros and any two of my own. I can’t think of anyone one else with big exclusive dub plates on the House seen at the moment.

What got you into Funky House?

My House and Funky influence has to be from raving.

You have a new track feat Allan P called "Only You". What was it like working with Allan on the track?

Yea man big track! It’s always good working with good vocalists and Allan P is my cousin so working with family's all good.

Are you expecting it to be as successful as your previous productions?

Of course. I always try to put good stuff out for the people. Success is another thing in this game.

What else can we expect from you? Are there any more tracks in the pipeline we should look out for?

Yea a track from Addictive titled MY LOVE, also WAISTING TIME by Ava B, IM THE MAN, and WIFEE with myself on the vocals. The tracks are being played by only a selected few DJ’s right now, but listen out for these four tracks from me for now unless you here anything else!

What software and gadgets to do like to use when you are in the studio?

Logic and G5.

Which producer would you most like to work with on a track?

Anyone who has the right plan to work, is genuinely feeling my production and really wants to work with me. I don’t want to work with anyone that just wants to run off with my studio skills, no what plugins I use and how I mix tracks or arrange them, then f*%@ off and give me no credit in a couple months and never see them again. There are no benefits for me so I would rather work by myself until then. I’m currently working with Hard House Banton and together we are doing this DNB movement, THATS FIRE!! We have a couple EP’s to look out for soon and also two singles, LAST NIGHT and DANCE WITH ME, BIIIIGGGG TUNES.

Which other producers are you rating at the moment?

I’m feeling HARDHOUSE BANTON & TADOW. I haven’t heard anything that’s made me think THIS TUNE IS HEAVY for ages!

If it's not mine or from Bants and this is a funny question, because how many producers have been asked this question? They all no of me and my tunes and I don’t here DUBPLATE WONDER, DO YOU? and I read and here alot of interviews.

You are also a DJ. Do you just play UK Funky or are their other Genres in your box as well?

Yeah I have got all of the same 30 tracks every DJ plays on there mix tapes and in the raves, a bit of old skool Funky for me and my old skool ravers from when I started getting into the House game. In my bag I have alot more of my own production, but yea I’m a crowd pleaser and always aim to keep the crowd happy and send them going home with a couple of Dubplate Wonder dubs in there head and waking up the next morning wanting to party hard again!

Being both a DJ and producer, which do you prefer? Being in front of a live audience or in the studio working on tracks?

Both! Live is good to see the reaction or the people listening and what music to keep feeding them to keep them happy.

Do you have any compilation CD's out at the moment or any in the pipeline?

Well I have got alot of plans for mix compilations and I have got alot of my own mix CD’s out there now. I have my own download site were you can download all my latest mixes called Filefront, check me out on there as Dubplate Wonder.

Are their any dubplates that simply do not leave your record box?

Yep my own dubs never leave my bag.

What’s the one thing you hate being asked the most whilst performing a DJ set?

Can you play Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. lol.

What is your favourite venue to play at and why?

Anywhere in Napa but, to tell the truth I don’t give a shhh and why? Cause I’m getting paid!

What do you think about all of the different "Skank" tracks currently being produced? First there was "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes", "Then Migraine Skank" and now even more. Will the novelty of these tracks soon run thin?

I say do what you do and be different, I was first to have MC tunes in Funky House back in 2007, with Dogtaniun. I then did another one with Dog and Coldsteps named LEAVE IT ALONE!

Back then it was hard trying to push them because there were no other mc tracks. It was hard pushing anything I did where it was so fresh, but now this sound which is the original sound I came into the game with is almost all im hearing labelled as UK Funky!

Good luck to everyone I say, and I would play both of them if that’s what the crowd wanted at the time. I’m not holding back anyone or knocking anyone. The more you talk about them, the more they shine, and must be doing something right because I here top DJ’s playing there tunes on the radio and in the clubs more than mine lol.

When you’re not out in the studio or DJ'ing, what do you like to do to relax?

Chill out, big people time.

What are 3 things that you always take with you to a session in the studio?

Phone, Laptop and me.

Who’s more gangster and why? Postman Pat / Fireman Sam / Bob The Builder

None of them, lol.
