Dubconscience; A project started by Bassist Justin "Diz" Padgett Began the summer of 2004. At this point Dubconscience has been proactive in performing with various musicians like Chris Lorenz, drummer for sprout, Matthew Mclaughlin the former guitarist of Hot Steppah, and Justin Holmes, Bassist for Annurism. Justin, "Diz" began his music career at the age of 12 when he purchased his first bass guitar. Music grew on his steadily and increased later on in his teenage years, rehearsing and performing with his first band "Bumfounded". Bumfounded grew larger than his expectations ever imagined by performing various locations around long island and NYC, ultimatly gaining the respect of DIA records and radio stations across long island. After the fall of Bumfounded, Diz fell into a "bassist block" where he could not express his thoughts and creation. Then, Dubconscience was born, followed up by the first demo released simply titled "Dubconscience" in 2004. Songs such as "Exclusive Dub", "New roots dub" and "Ambient Feeling" grew on deaf ears and gained a popularity in his hometown. Still he wanted more, more to express amongst his listeners. He then joined forces with Christopher Novelli(guitarist for Hot Steppah) Matthew Mclaughlin, lead guitarist/singer for Hot Steppah, Chris lorenz(drummer) and Mark Anthony "Mika" Padgett, lyricist/keyboardist for Hot Steppah in 2006. Ultimate domination was the key factor in his drive for success with these musicians. Talented like no other they stormed the industry and left none unaware of their presence. A "Blessing and a Curse" Dubconscience was dubbed shortly before departing his comrads, yet, little did he know there were other options and path opening up before his eyes. In 2007, Diz was strucken with hardtimes. Stuck between a rock and a hardplace, forced to move on, Dubconscience was set to walk a different path then he had expected. Life has taken hold of him full blown. 2007 was the birth and death of his career mentally. Early summer was the end of Hot Steppah, a group which he loved more than himself, and the rebirth, or renaissance of Dubconscience. Songs like " Naturally Synthetic, Mrs. Groove Thang, and Lustrous Depth Perception were what seemed at the time, "the pinnacle" of his career. Dubconscience extended his heart and soul into hiphop/electronic breakthroughs in his reality, which were soon adopted by the ears and souls of many across statelines. Diz learns and grows musically everyday. Each day brings a new inspiration and a new lesson learned in musicality. "Plant a seed of creativity, and in return in sprouts and blooms in different directions." Meaning, Diz will continue to play everything and anything as long as its meaningful. "Evolution Elapsed" the anticipated 2008 release will be an album to vibe with, to skate along to, and to remember as the music revolution takes its forces into the front line. Expect the StoneDivision team, and Dubconscience prosper in the age of change. .
