Damice Johnson was born in 1984 and wroted his first song at the age of 7 and was raised by his mother in West St. Paul, Minnesota. He credits her for her support and direction, which resulted in an unquenchable thirst to rise in his career. Damice has remained focused through the hard times with that support from his mother and his faith in God. Even as a child, his desire to shine was apparent in his optimistic attitude toward life. He spent his childhood on the court shooting hoops and with his mind centered on his education.

D-Sota is now quickly emerging as the hottest Twin Cities rapper. He was voted TC Next Up at the annual TC Hip Hop Awards and has taken 1st place in multiple Hip Hop competitions. D-Sota has opened for big acts such as Tech9ne In 4 State Tour, Crime Mobb, Yuck Mouth, Minnesota Timberwolves, Young Buck, St.Cloud State University, and Lil' Flip. His Hood Grammar album, subsequent to his debut album Struggle, will be released 2009 with what will soon be a punch single, “I’m Ballin’.” “My Lady,” his first released single from his album Hood Grammar, has been played on the Twin Citie’s largest hip-hop stations. D-sota has played at all of minnesota known clubs like The Red Sea, 7th St Entry, Target Center, 1st Ave, The Blue Nile, Club Seven, Dukes Nightclub, Arnellas, Minnesota State Fair, Varsity Theatre, The Rock, Mario's Keller Bar, Sound Bar, Karma, Visage, Epic, and much more.

Damice has visions to sustain those around him with his triumphs. He has a passion for youth and his desire is to encourage them to remain confident in themselves, stay in school, say no to drugs, and to keep focused in life. Damice D-sota Johnson has also did a [Youth Tour Experience] speech at schools in the minnesota school district at Horace Mann Elementry, Rosevelt, Johnson Highschool, Jimmy Lee Recreation Center also known as Oxford. An aspiration to serve others keeps him vigilant in pressing forward into his thriving future.
