KEEP MY NAME OUT YA MOUTH

DRIFT, born Kojo Aidoo was born in America, but raised in the honor and traditions of his parents who came to the states from Ghana, W. Africa.
As a youth Drift grew up in an environment that was harsh on most occasions, but opened his heart and mind to music, particularly Hip Hop. Before long, at 9, he would find his calling as an urban poet otherwise known as a rapper. His abilities were obvious, and as he grew, so did his ambitions.
In his teens, he would find himself in the midst of much of the worst the streets had to offer, and based on his upbringing he never held back or became timid while facing it.
It was the steady decline of his surroundings that helped shape the witty and aggressive style he’s known for, which he used constructively to win countless battles with other rappers, and a few victories on both BET’s Freestyle Friday, and MTV’s Direct Effect.
These battles opened doors which would land him a major distribution deal with WEA, and lead to the release of his first album, which included his cult classic, “Don’t’ Call Me”. The rotation of that video and two other videos created a tour opportunity, which had Drift performing across the country, in part for his own exclusive appearances and as an opener for numerous major artists who toured at the same time. This would establish a loyal fan base that still eagerly awaits his next project.
It’s obvious that in abilities and charisma, Drift’s presence could easily match Jay-z, or T.I, and he is a winner without a doubt.
