Being compared to the late great legendary rapper Tupac Shakur isn't easy for any up and coming emcee. But with thought provoking and deep emotional lyrics combined with great story telling ability, Dream Master "Q" gets this comparison a lot. Born April 21, 1983 in Charleston, South Carolina, Dream Master "Q" is the youngest of 3 siblings and is the son of an African American father and Filipina/Spaniard mother. As a kid growing up in a black dominated neighborhood in the south, he's dealt with a lot of police brutality, racism, and discrimination. Drugs and violence flooded the streets of his town and after witnessing a major drug bust at the young age of 12, and losing one of his close friends due to gunfire, it left an everlasting mark on this young emcee. "People ask me all the time why I never smile, and I simply reply that it hurts too much." But through all the pain "Q" has never let his goals fall aside. He was blessed with the gift of music and it poured out every time he stepped on stage. It wasn't until his 9th grade year in high school, when his English teacher told him that he had a lyrical gift, that he realized that music was his destiny.

After graduating in 2001, he attended an arts college in Orlando, Florida where he received an Associate of Science Degree in Recording Arts. During that time he wrote, recorded, and produced an entire album titled "Final Dawn," The Birth of Quinton Anthony Garvin. It’s a very diverse and personal album where he talks about everything from growing up, the government, war, racism, and how not to take life for granted.

After college, he moved to Chicago where he's done many shows including a brief tour with the legendary Houston emcee, Scarface. Now living in Atlanta, "Q" hopes that his music will influence and inspire the hearts of many to stay true to themselves and to realize that he's more than just a rapper putting words together that rhyme, he has a message.
