My Texas roots run deep with both sides of my family coming from Denton and Mckinney Teaxs. Growing up all kinds of music was played at my home but especially Country ~ Southern Rock and Rhythm & Blues. My Mom loved music by Micky Gilley and Ronnie Milsap my Dad would sip his I.W. Harper whiskey while listening to music by Ray Charles,BB King and the Allman Brothers Band.I remember like it was yesterday when my daddy took me to get my first Fender Telecaster guitar and I haven't stop pickin' ever since. When you add Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band and ZZ Top to the list of music I grew up listening to,all of that great music combined has steered me down the road which I'm on today.You can hear my guitar playing on the hit T.V. show "American Chopper" and I was honored to sing the theme song for the Discovery channel biker show "Southern Steel" featuring the custom Bikes from Milwaukee Iron in LynchburgVa.
The reason I named my cd "The Road Ain't Long " is all because of a phone call I received from a stranger at the time,who was calling me from Nashville Tennessee after hearing a song of mine which was sent to him by a southern rock radio station out of Chicago, just two days before Christmas just a few years ago. His message wasDee Rock you need to get yourself on out to Nashville and let's work on some music together. He ended his message by sayingSo just jump in your truck and hit the road,I guarantee you it won't take long, I'll call you after the holidays are overMerry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
Well I finally made that trip to Nashville Tennessee and now I'm proud and so very Blessed to be able to share my new music with you on my cd entitled "The Road Ain't Long "
