Dread Clampitt: With the Help of Your Love | Jubilee | KET - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 07, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Dread Clampitt performs "With the Help of Your Love" at the 3rd annual International Newgrass Festival.

Dread Clampitt is from the beach hamlet of Grayton Beach, Fla., near the city of Destin. The Red Bar is where the band plays, except when it's on tour, which is not that often. Tourists to the area flock to pack the dance floor and see the band play.

"I didn't grow up on bluegrass music," says band member Kyle Ogle in a Jubilee interview. Ogle listened to a diverse mix of music: Jimmy Buffett, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and others, gravitating more to the "island-style, feel good music."

Kenny Oliverio plays bass, electric guitar and saxophone, and John Reinlie grew up playing rock. Balder Saunders is the one who grew up playing bluegrass and brought it to the group to add to the fusion of sounds.

Sam Bush joins Dread Clampitt on stage for several performances, including a rendition of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young." Dread Clampitt also performs, among other songs: "Bayou Country," "With the Help of Your Love," and "Sisters and Brothers."

Members of Dread Clampitt include
• Kyle Ogle on guitar/vocals
• Kenny Oliverio on bass/vocals
• John Reinlie on drums
• Balder Saunders on mandolin/vocals

Jubilee is a KET production.
