Formed in 2004 and based in Los Angeles, Doxy quickly grabbed attention by being named Playboy.com’s top unsigned band in America. Currently putting the finishing touches on their highly anticipated demo, Doxy will soon be retaking the stages of Southern California. In a short time, they have already held widely praised gigs at The Rainbow, The Viper Room, The Derby and the Whisky.



Doxy is fronted by the manic, charismatic and undeniably sexy Ana Lovelis. Ana’s music career has featured stints in New York’s best (and only) speed metal ukelele band as well as a solo career that resulted in songs co-written by The Matrix, Matthew Gerrard and other leading purveyors of power pop. After Ana’s CD reached 24 in Japan, she embarked upon a harder edged, more direct and thought provoking sound to fulfill her artistic ambitions. Thus, Doxy was formed. Before her transformation to the provocative artist of today was complete, she was featured on MTV’s Score. Lovelis’ over the top stage performances infuse Doxy with an unequaled energy that creates new fans whenever she takes the stage.

Doxy combines influences as disparate as Nine Inch Nails’ sounds, Peter Gabriel’s theatrics, Kate Bush’s etherealness, Garbage’s hooks and Freddie Mercury’s showmanship into a package of thought-provoking, powerful, hard-edged rock. The visual impact of Doxy is second only to their music, with melodies that lodge themselves in your brain while Ana’s rendering of the words will send you on an exploration of inner

space.
