Just wanted to say thanks to those who supported us at this year's Rocklahoma. We had a blast and can't wait to get back out and play more shows soon! Our new drummer Jay Wilson is a welcomed addition to our family, as is our kick ass crew - sound man Erich Hood and light technician/photographer Brenda Wilson. We could not do this without them.much love!!
We will now continue our focus on writing new material and getting prepared for more live shows in the near future.stay tuned and thanks again for your support!
DOWN FOR FIVE WELCOMES JAY WILSON TO THE BAND

Those who may not have heard yet - immediately following our Bikelahoma performance, DFF drummer Carl Lowe was approached by producer David Prater, who produced Dream Theatre's "Images and Words" album and has worked with other famous artists as well (Firehouse, Santana, and more). Prater is currently working with Texas Hippie Coalition and THC did not have a permanent drummer at the time of the Bikelahoma performance (they performed on the mainstage at this year's Bikelahoma - that is how our paths crossed).
Prater, after seeing DFF's performance, approached Carl immediately after our set and told him he was "the guy" for THC. Long story short, Carl was named the permanent drummer of THC a few weeks ago and is preparing to do some major things with THC, including opening for major artists and the band is also is in talks to seal a record deal as we write this. Carl has risen to another level in his musical career and we wish him nothing but the best and appreciate immensely what he has done for and with DFF. We are excited to watch what he is about to accomplish on the next level musically.
We had planned on taking a hiatus following the Bikelahoma performance, but that performance gave us all the spark we were needing to want to continue pushing forward with the band and get our momentum back up, including continuing to perform and write new material and release a new EP/album in the near future. We realized that with it being uncertain when and even if Carl would be able to return to the group anytime soon, the decision was made to seek a replacement so that Carl could go achieve his dreams and we could continue reaching for ours, no matter on what scale those dreams may be.
It is with great excitement that we announce Jay Wilson as the new drummer for Down For Five. Jay has an impressive background, including drumming for acts such as Just Fredd, Fist of Rage, and Mothra Stewart. He is sonically solid and visually entertaining to watch, not to mention is an all around terrific person at heart. We are thrilled with what Jay brings to the band in many different facets and appreciate him and his expression of desire to make DFF a priority in his musical endeavors.
We believe this level of commitment will help us get back to the level we envision and believe that his addition to the band will result in great things for DFF. Not only have we added a terrific drummer to the lineup, we have also inherited other great individuals who are committed to bringing DFF back better than ever, including soundman Erich Hood and lighting technician/photographer Brenda Wilson. DFF is once again an army and we look forward to bringing you our best music and live performances yet.
Stay tuned for more info, new pictures, and good things and help us welcome Jay Wilson and crew to the Down For Five family.

WHAT IS PRESS AND MEDIA SAYING ABOUT DOWN FOR FIVE?
"With more than 150 bands playing the South Park Music Festival.here are a dozen don't-miss bands playing this weekend to help lead the way.Down For Five: This is just-try-looking-away metal. (It's impossible.)"
--Ricardo Baca, Denver Post, who listed Down For Five as the 6th top band to see at the 2006 South Park Music Festival in Fairplay, CO
"Face Rocking Metal, one of the best surprises of Tulsa's DFest!"
--Ricardo Baca, Denver Post
"The night truly kicked into gear with Down For Five, who rocked unapologetically . Seriously, a snapshot every five seconds with those guys!"
-- Ryan Williams, Book Author, Digital Music For Dummies
"The time has come for Down For Five. Dynamic, melodic, hardworking, sincere -- is there an adjective I've missed? -- this band has understandably forged an incredibly loyal fanbase. The bandmembers'
combination of technical skill, original sound and onstage charisma has DFF poised to become a progressive metal music powerhouse. Don't take my word for it. See a show for yourself."
--Jennifer Chancellor, Tulsa World Newspaper
"In an often male-dominated genre of face-searing guitar riffs and solos, Janna Jordan fearlessly -- and seemingly effortlessly -- commands respect and awe from her testosterone-fraught counterparts. And watch out, ladies, because this axemaiden eats skirt-wearing, flippy-haired, self-absorbed, mike-stand throwing, undertuned, overbaked rock-goddess wannabes for breakfast. To put it simply, Jordan wears the pants around here, and don' t you forget it."
