I'm known in my hometown of Atlanta, GA as a working freelance bass player. I play both the upright bass and bass guitar and some piano as well. Since 2006 I've been touring and recording full time with Corey Smith. Corey's latest recording project is being produced by Rick Beato and should be released by the fall of 2010.
I graduated from Indiana University School of Music in 1995 having focused in classical and jazz music. However, my street education is credited to bands such Fambooey and Johnny Socko for my first experiences in the art of DIY rock'n'roll touring. Of course as my 20's were coming to an end I decided that a career consisting of sleeping on floors and breathing fart fumes in a van needed a break (currently touring with Corey consists of hotels instead of floors but I'm still dealing with the farts). I came back to Atlanta in 1999 and started from scratch. From 2000 - 2006 I have played or recorded with some interesting musicians in the scene including Jerry Fields, Alpha Omega Sound, Geoff Achison, Rehab, Sasha Lisnichuk, Kristian Bush (Sugarland), David Ryan Harris (John Mayer), Kingsized, Jennifer Daniels, Jim Culliton, Marty Kearns, Kristin Markiton, Johnny O'Neal, DappleGreys, Clay Cook, the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, Bobby Yang's Unrivaled Players, Telegram, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Heston, the Cab Calloway Band, Jeni Michelson & Society Express, and pit bands for Broadway shows such as Wicked, Rat Pack and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
I've learned from each and every gig!
