EPIC 10 MINUTE FILM FEATURES THE MUSIC VIDEOS FOR THE HIT SINGLE “VIRTUAL DIVA” AND “THE CHOSEN”, A SONG THAT CHRONICLES DON OMAR’S CREATION INTO IDON.
Miami, FL (March 9, 2009) – On Tuesday, March 17th, DON OMAR will premiere “The Chosen: Virtual Diva”, an epic 10 minute mini-film that chronicles his transformation into IDON. The music video event will be exclusively broadcast on Myspace.com, the world’s most visited online social network, before being released to the music video channels. The film is a combination of two music videos that form chapters in the story of IDON. The first being for “The Chosen”, the intro of the new album that captures the essence of the new record’s futuristic concept and the second for “Virtual Diva”, the hit single from the album that has dominated the Latin Rhythm charts in the US and PR since its release at the beginning of the year.
“The Chosen: Virtual Diva” music video, directed by Carlos R. Perez (Elastic People), showcases Don Omar’s transformation into a combination of man and machine. A mysterious scientist, portrayed by Argentinean supermodel Ingrid Grudke, performs a series of operations and experiments on the Latin music superstar with the purpose of enhancing his musical and human abilities through futuristic technology. During this process the experiment goes wrong and IDON is born. So begins the beings insatiable thirst for his Virtual Diva. A story of lust and revenge unlike anything seen before.
Don Omar’s “IDON” is the most anticipated album of 2009 and will be released in CD/Digital/Mobile formats on April 28. The album will introduce the world to an evolution of the Don Omar sound and the system upgrade of the music scene as a whole.

MIAMI, FL (9 de marzo, 2009) – Este martes, 17 de marzo es la premier mundial de “The Chosen: Virtual Diva” de DON OMAR, una pel�cula corta de 10 minutos de duraci�n que documenta la epopeya de su transformaci�n en IDON. El video, antes de ser lanzado a los canales del v�deo de la m�sica, ser� difundido en exclusiva a trav�s de MySpace.com, la red social en l�nea m�s visitada del mundo.
El cortometraje presenta la historia del IDON en una composici�n de dos videos musicales en forma de cap�tulos. “The Chosen” es la primera representaci�n que sirve de introducci�n a este nuevo �lbum donde se captura la esencia del concepto futurista. Mientras, que el segundo, “Virtual Diva, apoya el nuevo �xito de este �lbum que ha dominado la cartelera Latin Rhythm en Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico desde su lanzamiento a principio de este a�o.
El video de “The Chosen: Virtual Diva”, dirigido por Carlos R. Perez (Elastic People), muestra la transformaci�n de DON OMAR en una combinaci�n del hombre y m�quina. Una misteriosa cient�fica, representada por la supermodelo argentina Ingrid Grudke, realiza una serie de operaciones y de experimentos en el s�per �dolo de la m�sica latina con el prop�sito de realzar sus capacidades musicales y humanas a trav�s de la tecnolog�a futurista. Durante este proceso el experimento falla y nace IDON. Comienza la sed insaciable de este ser para su Diva Virtual. Una historia de la lujuria y venganza nunca antes vista.
