HISTORY & BACKGROUND
Doit4urself Productions is best describes as a one stop shop for all your musical needs at a budgeted price. The label first started business in 2005, from what started as a hobby and a passion turned into a dynamic under-ground urban music factory. The studio is well-known for its hard hitting rap & hip-hop music uniquely not only does the organization offer recording services but also supports and offers promotions, development and management for one's music and exposure.
There are restricted trading hours at Doit4urself Productions studio. Recording an artist or bands at 10 o'clock on a Sunday morning to Monday nights and during the week till the late times sometimes into mornings, opened for any artist with that sudden flow of inspiration. The laid back but professional nature and manner of "Bayb D" at Doit4urself Productions allows artists to feel comfortable at approaching in some what a informal at times.
Doit4urself Productions previous venues – Hunter Bar, Nevermind, Trademark, The Metro Theatre, The Terrace, Home Nightclub, Urban Quarters/Shark Bar, cherry/Space Bar, UN/Chocolate city.
Achievements:
-Achievements at Doit4urself Productions have been the productions and sales of the Doit4urself Studio Artists mixtapes titled (We doing it 4 ourselves), bringing artists locally and internationally together on one cd in a series form.
-The RA & BAYB D "Live"- (Mr Syn City/film clip) which appeared on channel V's channel U program featured at number #1 for a few weeks.
-Doit4urself Productions Studio has also recorded some semi established artists as well such as James Kannis from Australian idol top #10 and New Zealand artists Lincon aka Lynx top #12 and opening act for Flo-Rida at Luna park's Big Top. Artists name Mufflez aka Samir he also has done a recent film clip on MTV's top #20 urban countdown with idol host Ricki-Lee - track name "Wiggle It". To recording a signed artist from turkey "Cem Earslan" aka Gem-Stone which we recorded a 20 track demo album/mix-tape.
-Doit4urself Productions has recorded a long list of local whom are regular clients at the studio from single recording artists to bands and groups. It is important for me to support the local talent as it begins from showcasing what they have in the city or country that we live in.
-Doit4urself Productions to date has recorded up to 75 artists, bands and groups.
-Since 2006 Doit4urself Productions has been affiliated with American mix-tape-cds and labels such as Swaggnews.com and Street Credibility these cds are distributed in five countries USA, Germany, Ukraine, Canada, New Zealand plus Australia.
-Also back in September 2008, Doit4urself Productions released its first mix-tape cd series titled "We Doing It 4 Our Selves" Vol 1. It featured a major line-up from our list of talented artist. The mix-tape cd had an official launch night at Space Bar, Liverpool St City with 2 of Doit4urself 's Artists hand picked to showcase their music off cd. It was a very successful night with over 60 mixtape handouts after performances. From this night Doit4urself Productions started to build a mailing list and fan base, this would be held for future nights to be sent out to fans and mailing list, to inform patrons of next and upcoming events plus any giveaways and new material posted daily.
